well, i'm about to order one of these and wanted to get some pads along with it,

what kind of pads am i going to need?

is this package a good deal or does it have allot of unnecesary stuff?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...K:MEWA:VRI&viewitem=&item=110073745250&rd=1,1

cause i found other deals on ebay like the unit by itself for $95, so i thought maybe if i buy it for $95 and get the pads i really need i would save some money.

also, is the DVD worth getting? since i really have no idea how to work wel with this thing

seems like a decent deal to me! the pads range from ther heavier grit to the lighter. depending on how bad the paint is, will determine what pad u r going to use. when i buffed my paint i used theorange pad, first...then used the lightest pad. make sure u get some good polishing glaze too!

Sorry main, I love clay bars and hand waxing, but taking a power tool to the paint has always made me nervous. I've looked at those buffers off and on over the years, but I don't want to swirl up my ride...

Has a good how-to section in the bottom right. There are also forums there where you can get any detail related question answered.

http://www.guidetodetailing.com/articlenoheader.php?articleId=58

You can download the guide to detailing here... there is lots of good information in it. You will have to register it, but it's free. After registering, there will be a password that you put in to unlock all areas of the guide.

Hope this helps you.

This where I order all my stuff for my Porter Cable 7424.

After trying this stuff, this is the only stuff I will ever use on any car I ever own from now on:
http://www.properautocare.com/mengerbespol.html

It's expensive yes, but my god are the results perfect!
Step 1: Intensive Polish
Step2: Final Polish II
Step 3: Finishing Touch Glaze
Step 4: Menzerna FMJ to finish it all off http://www.properautocare.com/menzernafmj.html
Step 5 (After every other car wash in between real detailing jobs): High Gloss Acrylic Shield.

You won't believe your eyes at how easy this stuff goes on and off and the job it does! You don't need your polisher for this so you should order it NOW!!!!
