Best radar detector:
1. Know when to speed
2. Know where to speed

The company that makes the Passport 8500 series (supposedly the best or one of the best) brand of radar detector (rated by radardetectors.com) makes a cordless version. Im nice ill even throw in a link!

lol for me im always runing late for something so i ALWAYS have to speed
Passport 8500 X50 has saved my *** more times then i can count. Range on the thing is fricken amazing just be sure to mount it high in the center of the windshield for max range. I know lots of ppl like to have them low on the dash but with the X50 you cut it's range in half doing that. I leave it on highway setting no matter where i go since that gives it the longest range. Think it's 300 bucks if i remember correctly.
One of the other hinderences is tint film.I have semi-metallic lifetime film which is great for keeping out UV rays, but impededes some signals.

Obviously you don't live in a big city. I actually wired mine to a switch so that I can turn it off, even in city mode, when it gets really bad.

I have a Cobra and it is great... hasn't failed me yet!

Plus, got it for $20 here because someone didn't want it anymore! :3_winkthu
