Hello I wondered why this is and how this happens?
when driving the car is making less noise then when idle. Can someone explain it to me? I like the deep sound it makes when it is stationary but its a bit quiet while driving.

Doesn't make much sense--how are you measuring the sound? Any engine/exhaust mods on the car? Is it noticeably different to you or just to whatever you're using to measure it?

Well you can hear the difference a lot and the image is what the apk (dutch vehicle inspection) measured.

Only things I could think of was your meter might be canceling road noise? Or the slight increase in load and rpm hits a spot where your mufflers work the best, I know my car idles pretty loud and when I’m cruising I can’t here it at all until I get onto it..

I’d assume it’s the higher rpm working with the muffler but I’m not a scientist soo idk
