I've been in the process of turboing my 2003 Hyundai tiburon gt v6 6 speed for awhile now I just haven't posted on here about it. I mainly only post to the Hyundai group pages on Facebook because those pages have more active views but anyway. I just want to show you guys the progress I've made this is no diy.

So far I have a atp turbo up pipe that is mebt to fit on the stock catted exhaust manifolds but the guy I bought this set up off of custom fitted dc ceramic coated headers. Then I have a big Garrett gtx3582r ebay knock off surprisingly these turbos are pretty good they are dual ball bearing and have a billet compressor wheel and is actually balanced pretty well , this turbo has made over 700whp maxed out on other cars without issues so I know with the 12 psi max I will run on this turbo I will have no reliability issues with the turbo hopefully this and many other things will help me achieve my goal of 400whp on a complete stock long block with 88k miles. I also have a megasquirt ms2 ecu that has a lot of mods added like boost control, launch control, and most importantly flex fuel ability, yes ill be running e85 which will help a lot at keeping the motor happy it will actually be set up so that on 93 octane I'll be running 8 ish psi for hopefully mid 300s and then when I put e85 in the flex fuel sensor will sense the higher ethanol content and up the boost to 12 psi or anywhere in between based on the ethanol content. Also I have a walbro 255 to supply fuel still need to get my 1000cc injectors though, I also have a spec stage 3+ clutch to hold the power along with a fidanza light weight flywheel and also a obx lsd in the trans. I also have a cxracing intercooler and universal intercooler piping and a few other things I'll list later put ill post the pics below.

This is going to be a sweet build!! Looks like you have found some pretty rare parts.I just started a rallycar build myself. Do you have a part number or any details on the LSD? I just dropped my 5 speed off at the transmission shop this morning for synchros. I am probably going to have to find them and provide them myself.

My car is a 6 speed so the lsd I have won't work with yours, but phantom grip does have a lsd insert for your car

Thank you for the info! I may ended up welding the diff I have not decided. It's for dirt use only

Just a short update been busy with other things but slowly been working on getting everything together I I can install everything, recently just got a new daily which I have to fix a few things before it's completely the new daily, it's an 2007 v6 automatic tiburon I got for 1k bucks a deal tbh just needs a little work. Also I ecently I just picked up my On3 performance wastegate and bov. And I've been working on trying to figure out the downpipe issue with this turbo manifold set up.

Because for that don't know this is a atp turbo up ment for stock exahust manifolds , that someone custom made to fit the dc headers for these cars , the downside of the atp turbo set up is the turbo weirdly sits backwards which for me is just weird and just isn't as appealing. But when you just flip the turbo the other way and make it front facing , you run into issues of there not being any space for the sown pipe to go because the outlet of the turbo points directly towards the driver side motor mount. So the solution I went with is to get a t3 to t3 90 degree adapter that should raise and put the turbo at a better location I'm waiting for that to come in the mail later today so I'll make another update later.

So update the 90 degree idea failed 🙃, the turbo sits way to high with the 90 degree adapter, it won't clear the hood so now I will have to cut and modify the up pipe which I didn't want to do 🙄 but anyway thats what you have to do when you go custom so I'll have the pipe modified like this. End goal is for the turbo to sit like this then I can actually start getting the down pipe made at some point.

Here's a real short update, it's not much of an update but more or where the project is right now. So not too much exciting has happened . But I have found someone to redo the hot side of the turbo so it can be front facing and sitting how I want it. He also saw a few other things that need redoing also kn the hot side . As I most likely stated before this is a atp up pipe thats ment for stock manifolds to bolt up to it but the guy I bought it off of had custom adapted dc headers to the atp up pipe . It wasn't the cleanest adaption so all of it is getting redone. He gave me an rough estimate so I'll be sending him the money within the next couple weeks for him to order the parts and to get started . I'm going on vacation soon so we'll see when I'll get the parts ordered but I'll jeep you guys updated. We should have something coming along really nice soon. Here's some pictures of a few things , I found a new way to run the intercooler piping so that I can still use the crash bar and i don't have to trim the bumper at. Also this is how the new turbo set up should sit.

Been meaning to post an update progress on the hot side is slow. But it's getting there here is some pictures of the new y pipe for the hot side coming together. The merge is all new and a lot smoother than before it should sound a lot different and flow a lot better than the old atp up pipe design. Also it should be a lot better then what the original owner of this hot side did to fit the dc headers to the atp up pipe. Last picture shows the compression of the old y pipe design vs the new .

I realize that the last photo didn't fully now the comparisons of the y pipe design since some of it was cut off. Here's a better one old on the left and new on the right.

Thats the end goal if I can make the power I want . Which I should be able to do mostly with how much more efficient this set up should be . Should hopefully make 400whp on e85 on relatively low boost . With the lsd and good tires it should hook without too much issues. Should make it a really fun car.

Got some pictures in yesterday from they guy. The y pipe is now done. The rest of the set up should come together smoother and hopefully will have the turbo mocked up soon so then he can make the downpipe and the rest.

Well i realized I forgot to post a few things I got . Got an set of 1000cc gtr injectors from fuel injector clinic. Gtr injectors have the same injector height as oem injectors and actually the same injector connector design. But these have the typical bosh ev14 connector style the sell the connectors to swap over in the box with the injectors .

I also got an new aem x series afr gauge to replace my innovative and also got an aem x series boost gauge. Also got an ngm 70mm tb actually have had this for a while but never posted. It actually came off another members car on here. If any of you remember shadys vortech supercharged tiburon which held the supercharged hp record for a while and still holds . I was lucky enough to get this off someone I know who bought some parts off that car and sold me .

Also got an free injen cold air intake thats in pretty great condition, that I will use for part of my charge pipe because of how the piping runs compared to the ebay Cai currently on the car. I'll buy an 3 inch bov pipe place where the maf used to go, so I can use my bov and not have to cut up the injen.
