We all know the obvious differences between 2003-04 Tibs and 2005-06 Tibs (front fascia, side gills, head lights, tail lights, rear emblems, 16" wheels, rear wiper) but yesterday I learned in another thread I started that 2003-04 Tibs have windshield washer squirters with 2 nozels while 2005-06 have windshield washer squirters with 3 nozels. Is the squirter on the rear hatch different on 2005-06? I know 2003-04 has only one nozzle and is basically useless.

It makes me wonder what other small detail differences there are between the 2 that we aren't aware of.

2003-2004 clutches made of cardboard
2005-2006 clutches made of slightly thicker cardboard

Seriously though, I know the Air Bag connectors for the side impact airbags in the seats are different between the original and the F/L series.

Well, first of all, there is no squirter at all on the rear hatch on 05-06 because there is no rear wiper (at least in the U.S.)

'05 had no cargo net, while '06 got the flat-style net on the bottom of the trunk (not sure if all trim levels got it).

Another thing I noticed when test-driving an '03--there is a light on the cluster for "Cruise" when it's on. My '05 has a light for "Cruise" when it's on but also a "Set" light for when a speed is set. The '03 only had the cruise, not set.

And I could be wrong but I don't think the 03-04 had a lighted glove box.

I heard the 2005-06 GT and I think the SE don't have a rear wiper but I believe the base model does. Strange, because all 2003-04 have a rear wiper.

About the lighted glove box, yes, my '04 does.

I would just like to point out the oxymoron behind this thread...... If they are unknown differences, then how would anybody know about them?

^^^ Good point. I just found it interesting that 2005-06 owners thought my "mod" was strange since theirs came standard that way. Hopefully there are some people here who have owned both a 2003-04 and a 2005-06 or someone who has gotten a chance to compare the 2.

When I was a Pontiac Vibe owner and a member of genvibe.com, we discovered little changes between 2003 and 2004 Vibes. One I discovered was that 2003 Vibes had plastic visors while 2004 Vibes had cloth visors that could extend to better block the sun on the side. I went out and found a set of 2004 visors for my '03 just because I liked them better. Sometimes it's the little details that make the biggest differences. The squirters are something very small (and cheap at $7) that made a big difference (at least to me).

I just remembered another one. 2003-04 Tibs have a dead button next to the window lockout button on the drivers door. In Korea this button is used for folding mirrors. For 2005-06, that button is used for the power locks.

Also see thread: Whats this mystery button do?

2003-2004 uses a return style fuel system while 2005+ uses a returnless system (on the V6).
2003-2004 have a hose going between the two valve covers on the passenger side, this has been eliminated on the 2005+ models (V6).
2005+ eliminated the lower resevoir (in the wheel well) on the intake system (V6)

In the US, no 2005-06 comes with rear windshield wiper.

That would be 2004+.

heated mirrors
That's not heated mirrors. All Tibs have heated mirrors and they operate when the rear defroster is turned on. The button above is for folding mirrors in 2003-04 Korean Tibs. In 2003-04 US Tibs it does nothing. In 2005-06 US Tibs, it's the door lock/unlock button.

Isn't the suspension stiffer on 03-04?
Just '03. They softened it up in '04 after a lot of people complained. Frankly I can see why after driving an '03. Though if you're going to race, the '03 suspension is probably better.

Supposedly the SE has a slightly different suspension setup than the GT, but I'm not sure if it's really true.
