Hi guys

I am writing in South Korea

Please forgive me even if I am not good at using English

My car is a GRANDEUR XG 2005
Tiburon v6 2.7L G6BA + 6M/T swap
gtx3076gen2 turbo

My goal is to produce more than 400whp.

It is possible up to 500whp, but it is currently fixed at 300whp due to the slip of the clutch.

If I use clutchmasters FX500, can it withstand 400whp to 450whp enough?

Also, what combination of flywheels do you recommend?

South Korea's car tuning culture is very lacking
I'm looking for advice from you

I love your build! What are you using for engine management? Standalone ECU, piggyback or reflashing the OEM ECU?

Our pull type clutch doesn't hold power very well and has a limit around 500WHP. But there are some strong clutches out there by clutch masters and SPEC that will hold 400+ WHP. The FX500 and SPEC stage 3+, 4 & 5 should hold the power. You may want to convert to a rigid disc instead of a spring disc. For flywheels we typically use either the Fidanza or Clutch Masters aluminum flywheel. I use the SPEC 3+ rigid disc with Fidanza flywheel but I'll only be pushing 300WHP with an Alpine supercharger. It's overkill for my application.

Original ECU parts were used as-is.

good solution thank you very much

Too bad I can't use the twin clutch.

But I'm happy to be able to use a single clutch.

Do you have any tuning data for the original ECU? I am assuming it is a Siemens 5WY17 or 5WY18 ECU much like the Tiburon? We are very interested in obtaining either a DAMOS/definition file or SAM2000 to expand on our tuning knowledge. Every promising lead has ended in a grossly overpriced offer. Currently I am reverse engineering the Tiburon ECU but it has been a very slow process.

There is a twin disc push type clutch conversion available. I don't remember the brand name at the moment but It is a very expensive option.

Chase, didn’t u say the Spec stage 3+ was pretty bad ass for high clamping pressure or was that rushking. It stats it’s rated to 430ft/lbs at the crank.
It might be an option although the V6’s are torque monsters.

I did recommend the SPEC Stage 3+. Rushking19 also has the same clutch and recommended it to me. I just got my car on the road yesterday morning and it really clamps hard. On paper it's overkill for my application but it does incredible well while I'm still N/A.

Amazing build man that intake manifold is interesting. Is that a stock intake manifold turned backwards?. Qlso how does the headers and exhaust piping look ? Also i would recommend trying a spec stage 3+ or a spec stage 5 clutch with an fidanza flywheel.

If you are in South Korea you will need to change transmission to 5 speed old ef sonata taxi transmission
And os twin plate clutch or orc twin plate
This was we used in Korea then.
it’s not that running is lacking it’s Korean men now have very little skills and this is not worth the money. And the 단소 has ruined Korea as a whole

I thought the taxi transmission for the 4 cylinder. Not the v6? Or is there a v6 taxi 5 speed also?

Yes they have or now had a v6 version of this in a 5 speed you can stretch it out to hit over 300km

The ef sonata v6 5 speed there are two modes of it the “taxi gearing is 123 short and 45 long. I have been doing this for about 25 years now. Been here in Korea for the last 36 years now

So the taxi v6 5 speed is different from the tiburon v6 5 speed? And if so how much different is it? Do you know the gear ratios?

It’s the bell housing is the same for all the v6 based delta blocks here also there is another option since they use lpg here they came out with a different version of the ef and xg but in a lpg variant. If I remember correctly you can use that version of the 5 speed because it uses thicker gears in it. As for the gear ratios what we did was change out the final drive rather then 1-5 it was cheaper too the ring gear set was about $160 then and $150 to do the work. If you want to know the specs look up the xg v6 lpg version

the other option is putting on the transmission from a Tiburon gts 2 version.

I will ask around here most of the old schools guys are gone or married.

Thank you for your valuable comments
We have secured long-lasting stock of clutches for turbos made in Korea.
Must be tested after running in
my xg will take a long time to complete
There will be many problems in the future and we need to solve them
