And the question of the day is....

Lets see what kind of cars everyone has owned before they decided to get their Tibby. Which one was your favorite? Which one did you hate to part with?

Starting at the beginning:

1980 Datsun pickup
1982 Chevy Cavalier
1989 20th Ann. GTA Trans Am
1989 Eagle Talon Tsi
1993 Ford Probe GT
1989 Formula Firebird
1996 Ford Probe GT
1996 Eclipse GSX
1991 Chevy Corvette
1993 Ford Mustang Conv. (4 cyl.) :3_pukey:
1992 Mazda 929
2000 Chevy Camaro SS
2005 Hyundai Tiburon SE

My favorite was the Trans Am. My first sports car at 18 and it was turbocharged.
The one I hated to get rid of was the Camaro. I was emotionally attached to that car!

Hope I get some good replies!

1985 Ford Ranger
1988 Toyota Celica
2003 Chevy Cavalier

My favorite was the celica, that car could go through anything. It wasn't fast by any means, but it was quick and very durable.

1985 Pontiac Acadian - Transferred into my name and I never drove it out of the yard.
1984 Buick Park Avenue - Velour seats. Lol.
1994 Jeep YJ - Still have it in my back yard. Going to make it into a hunting vehicle. I love it still.
1984 Yamaha RZ500 - Motorbike. First bike I rode on, first bike I owned.
Then the Tib.

1989 silverado 315000 miles, original engine and tranny! lol complete with camper and primer spot on the side, the tranny was just starting to fail
1987 Firebird 2.8 liter v6 haha basically the same motor as the tiburon, it was a weaksauce car but it looked sweet
1992 civic si hatch, this car was sweet but i had to leave it in mississippi because of a transfer of station while in the military, sold it to my cousin, he totaled it 2 days later
2002 subaru wrx, man this was my dream car but it turned into a nightmare, it detonated and had a strange misfire problem for the 2 years i owned it.
2006 tiburon se v6 i miss my f/i off my subaru, i love the growl of the v6 and the 6 speed tranny, the car looks fast but unfortunatly i have to now make it match its looks hehe, my subaru would have costed way to much to fix.

92 Civic si HB
94 Integra
99 Civic ex coupe
02 Protege 5
04 Tibby GT

The Integra was my baby and was modded heavily, especially for being back in 94-8. Back then it was a big deal to have springs and an exhaust in chicago. The protege 5 was a lot of fun to drive and was the sweet yellow with black interior. I was really surprised at how well it handled.

The list is extensive... and it included cars owned in two countries Brasil and the US... so let's go

1989 - Ford Escort XR3 Cosworth - this car has nothing to do with the crappy american escort... it's a beast with a cosworth engine... great car

1989 - Fiat UNO 1.5R - My favorite car by far... I dreamed of that car when I was a teenager... when I finally got one I was stoked!

1986 - Mazda 323 - great reliable transportation

1988 Mustang GT - biggest piece of crap car ever... blew an engine with 4 months light use...

1996 Hyundai Accent LX - I loved that car... put 32,000 miles on it in one year... boy did I travel those days

1994 Taurus - Ford = Trash

1992 Hyundai Excel - my second Hyundai... I really loved it because I paid 2K for it and it never gave me any trouble

1998 Ford Contour - Ford = Trash (I finally learned my lesson with that car... I will never buy a Ford ever again)

1994 Hyundai Elantra - when you trade in a 1998 car for a 1994 car no matter what car it is and you are ecstatic... that means the other brand really sucked

1998 Isuzu Amigo - the worst car to insure ever... but solid as a rock... until the engine went at 145K miles

2006 Hyundai Tiburon SE - I had to buy a car in one afternoon and always loved the Tib... so that was a no-brainer... almost bought a fully-loaded Tucson truck and was convinced by my fiancee to buy the Tib because she saw I was happier driving it

I hope I keep this car for a least 5 years... or until I run it to the ground!

89 Honda Prelude SI-not bad, but dog slow. Was a very reliable car I must admit.

1995 Mercury Cougar XR-7-Very quick for how heavy it was. Bought it and had no idea that it was modded.

1990 Eagle Talon TSi AWD-One word for this car: Nucking Futs

1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP-I got out of the DSM scene looking for something bigger and more reliable. My cheap speed ways followed me, and later, $600 yielded me a 13.86 pass at 99 mph. I miss the S/C whine it had, but it will be back again.

1987 Volvo 740Turbo Wagon- the car i spent many hours in telling my mom to upshift already, lol. fun to drive. RWD+turbo= good times. push button 5th gear.. weird. learned the fine art of powersliding, and jumping moguls like a WRC ace. met an unfortunate death at the hands of a ford bronco II that somehow appeared out of nowhere on a blindingly sunny august day. sad. i would buy another in a heartbeat, that car saved my life.

1989 Saab 900- bulletproof motor and trans. the car of my youth. quite possible the wierdest production car ever. no power windows, door locks, leather alloys or anything remotely luxury about it. lots of high times had in that lil beastie. 3 speed auto. wow, it was slow! the auto trans and troubled electrical system finally started to give out at 240k miles.. sold to a saab enthusiast for parts..

1993 Ford Ranger ext cab- do not buy a rwd pickup when you live in new england, LOL. aside from the fact that it simply refused to go in the snow, it was fairly good transport, no real troubles. it was seasick green with a purple and pink pinstripe, LOL. the 3.0L V6 was actually pretty decent. i had planned to keep it to build into a 5.0 powered monster, but then i remembered that i have virtually no mechanic skills. SOLD!

1996 Ford Contour SE- i really liked this car, actually. it was the 1st body style with the Duratec V6 thats still in production today. it was an auto, but it was respectably quick even by todays standards. it had a nice interior with grippy power leather front buckets, and every option available at the time. the back seat had virtually no legroom for a 4 door. awful time trying to make out with chicks back there, lol. the auto tranny finally gave out at 170k-ish and traded it in for...

1999 Ford Escort ZX2- this was where i caught the mod bug. these little cars are actually much more fun than their escort name would have you believe. i started with a set of rims, and eventually had an intake, exhaust, homemade sts, cf taillights and such. it was also the 1st car i built a real audio system for. i had polk dx full range speakers all around, cadence tweeters on the dash, 2 polk dx 12 subs, a cadence z4000 4 channel and a soundtream sub amp. it was effin loud. got rid of it b/c i wanted something with a V6 and more luxury/classiness.

2001 VW Jetta VR6- worst car ever. bought it used off a hyundai dealer with 30k on it. i figured 30k isnt much for a VW since they seem to have long lives. wrong. this think popped a cel as i drove it off the dealers lot and continued to breed electrical and mechanical gremilns the entire time i owned it. it blew a radiator hose at 30k that cost nearly 400 and took 2 1/2 days to fix. i was stranded 4 states away from my home at the time. awesome. thanks VW. i finally got so fed up with bringing it back to the hyundai dealer that i asked for my money back. they actually were pretty accomodating, and i think they were well aware that the car was garbage. they asked me to look around their used lot before we started talking about a buy-back. and there she was... my.....

2003 Tib. V6, 5 speed and 3000 miles. perfect. havent looked back since!
