Got something in the mail, "one time only" test trade-in event for hyundai's from my local dealer that I bought the car from, says they'll give me msrp as listed in kbb for my 05, what kind of scam is this exactly?

i notice it says deduct 29 cents per mile driven. . which would still be way too high on a trade in.. anyone know what's up with this deal?

why dont you go to the dealer and find out?

Sounds good to me I would definately try it. Don't get trapped into anything or raped on a deal though

^^^^^^^^^ Very true, I got one of those and took my Tib in for ***** and giggles........the guy was like I will give you 9k, and I was like um blow me dude! I said for what so you can give me a new tib that costs more and is way slower, not as good looking, and more expensive than what I have now? RIGHT!

Yeah, the dealer, or sometimes depending on which one you goto, the 'stealership' will try to rook you. But, unless you have the 4 cyl tib, the v6 all share the same 2.7 liter v6, so I am not sure what makes you think a new one is slower:3_yawnee:

The looks are a personal preference, and the price sure will be more, but same engine.

To the OP,

Just call them or stop by and find out if interested. Good luck!:3_puhbye:

I say slower because my Tib's engine is modded, and the one off the lot isnt.....so I would have to pay for that also, since I dont have my OEM stuff anymore :)

I would go just to hassle them and make them stick to their word. Of course I'm sure there's some fine print there to look at...

trust me its like a timeshare its too good to be true :D We learned it the bad way... but with my skills we got out of it :D

I went in to look at the 07 Tib. Naturally, the dealer wanted to have a look at mine to tell me what he'd give me for it. I humored him since I like mine fine (well, except for it being an automatic).
Said he'd give me 17k for my 06 with 3k miles which is only 1k less than I paid for it.
Wanted me to test drive it, but since he didn't have any SE's, I said what's the point? Same thing!

Funny thing was when he saw my "T" badges.....
He got this weird puzzled look on his face and he goes: "Where the hell is everybody getting these? That's the third one I've seen like this in a month!"
I just smiled at him and said, "Korea"
LOL
Maybe he thought the other dealers knew something he didn't!

I've gotten a few of these as well; the old "There's a high demand for your vehicle so we'll give you a good trade-in price for it". Never went through with it to see what they'd offer but I've always been curious to see what they'd offer on it.

A car dealership is going to give you anywhere from 2,500-5,000 less than what they intend to sell them for...

I work for a dealership and thats what we do... the thing you get in the mail is a promotion... the company that sends you that gets paid per how many people visit or call on that ad... you make the dealership money just by going in there and talking to them
