6 1/2'' in the back???

So im kind of stuck with a pair of 6 1/2'' rockford punch composite speakers.
(the one with the tweeter in the middle) <----i think thats composite.

So ive tried to sell them and cant. nobody wants them. i happened to come accross a few cars i saw that had extra tweeters in the back. ive alsso seen a few tibs that have 6 1/2'' speakers in the back instead of the 6x9's.

is it a totally ridiculous idea to put these rockford punch 6 1/2 in the back?

no. Idea is normal, lots of people prefer that over 6x9 anyway. just get an adapter plate.

I feel like those might even sound better.. the stock setup is so muddy on the low end, hopefully this would clear it up.

what worries me is the extra tweeters, you guys think it would be treble overkill?

no. The tweeters on coaxials are usualylg arbage anyway. If it bothers you that much just snip the wires going to the tweeter.

NOOOOO i had someone helping me install a head unit, and he decided to cut the stock harness. because the guy at the store gave us the wrong harness... so a long story short my head unit still doesnt work, because i havent found the time to wire it back up and solder it or crimp it. i dont wanna snip anything

W...T....F nobody on this site still understands my godamn humor.

OP don't snip the wires. The tweeter will be fine as is and it won't bother you. I'm sure the driver will overpower it anyways. I have 2 ways as well in the back, but they are 6x9s, i have the highpassfilter on my amp turned on for them. There is zero bass and it sounds fine cuz the sub makes up for it. I get a bit of mid range punch from up front.

Yea Ive got a pair of 10'' subs i just hooked up. sweet its decided then. i shall put the rockfords in back. thank guys
