I don't know what KBB he's using but I just did a check for a 2004 Tib GT Automatic using the Mountain Grove MO zipcode of 65711 and it did NOT pull up a value of $8340.00...

More $5,950 like most of the rest of the country..... Oh and having 110k miles on the car and bragging how the ONLY thing he's done is changed the oil is NOT A GOOD THING. This guy cracks me up. Over priced and NOT maintained.

Average fuel mileage can be calculated on any car and is recommended over any algorithm calculating gauge/display setup by the factory.

  • Fill up your tank all the way and DO NOT TOP OFF
  • Rest your tripometer to zero
  • Drive
  • The next time you fill up, use the same gas station and the same pump. DO NOT TOP OFF when re-filled
  • Take the distance traveled indicated by the tripometer and divide it by the amount of fuel, used to re-fill your car back up.
  • You have just calculated your ave. MPG.
  • And yes, it is NOT likely he got 40 mpg in a V6 Tib. Stock or Modded....

yeah those figures are about what i was expecting....im still gonna try to sell mine for 10k plus tho lol

I call bull**** on this guy. And even if it is trade-in-value I still think that the car is over priced. I have seen Tibs will less miles go for less than that. Granted if it were a mid-90's Mazda RX7 I would be extremely attentive but that is not the case. And the 40 mpg? Really? Most Honda Civics don't even get that kind of gas mileage unless driven by an oder person (a really old person).

Dude, that's trade in value.. you have to compare it to private party value. Trade in takes into account that the dealer will have to clean it up, market it, and pay a sales guy to sell it.
No he did private party value. Tibs don't really hold their resale well at all, I wouldn't pay more than 5 grand for the one in the craigslist ad.

you can ASK 10 grand but you won't get it unless you are lucky. What you ask and what you sell for will be 2 different numbers. 7 grand might be more realistic

If you think this is a good deal then I'll sell you my 04 2.7l 5spd with 70K+, completly stock, BUT well maintained. In fact a brand new timing belt/idlers/water pump/tensioner. Flushed coolent, fresh brakes, and I'll even bathe it fur ya!

Let's say 10.5K and call it a sale! :lolzer:

An the best I ever got was just under 30mpg and that was driving like grandma an never going over 3K rpm .....:3_sleepha

An no, it's not really for sale. Unless your really willing to pay the 10.5K. In that case .... PM me...LOL

Wow.. KBB.com officially blows chunks! That is the worst layout I have ever seen. I just saw the "Trade-in/Sell Values" at the top because you used to pick that option right at the beginning. I know they don't retain their value (hence, why I consider them "throw away" cars), just wanted to make sure it was apples to apples.

I wouldn't buy it at all.. it's an automatic.
