Hmm. If I had that kind of budget, I would start with paint/body kit (but my paint is suffering because of Vegas heat). If you want a body kit AND paint, it would probably be better to do them at the same time. This would be first (IMO) if you are completely changing the color.

The first thing I am planning on doing though (since my interior materials are a little rough) is reupholstering the seats and the doors. Deep cleaning the **** out of my interior and making everything new. If you are trying to utilize what you have first, then maybe go through and see what you want to keep/clean up first?

My brakes will be next as I am toting my precious 11 month old son in my vehicle and they always have to be performing perfectly.

I have not upgraded really anything yet on my tib, but it seems to me, that when you buy one thing to modify for better power... theres a whole list of things that should follow.

If you're not changing the color, start with performance? Maybe if you get a couple things upgraded towards performance then get some rims..

When I upgrade... I'm going leave the car almost completely stock on the exterior (with fresh paint of course but no body kits). I'd rather have a stock looking tiburon that performs well than an awesome looking tiburon that is completely stock in the engine bay.

Oh, well slow down! Just...cruise.

When I got my first ticket (A reckless driving ticket mind you)... I was underage (so I HAD to tell mom) and I cried in front of the officer. So he asks "Why are you crying?"
My response: "Because I'm scared!"
He says: "There's no reason to be scared of me.."
My response: "I'm not scared of YOU. I'm scared of showing my mom I got this ticket..."
His response: "Well I would be too... thats going to be a huge fine."
My response: with a chuckle "no ****. Well, are you going to be in this area in case I need to call 9-1-1?"
He laughs.

Let me tell you. 1600$ and 8 hours of traffic school later. Haven't sped like that since. I always think now.

1600$ is what in upgrades??

Ms. Tiburon, its a perfect time to mod your car since you live at home. Like cupcake said, mortgage/rent depletes the majority of your funds when you move out.

What year, mileage, and how long have you had your Tib? Without knowing the condition of your ride, i would start with updating all necessary maintenance, ie. belts, hoses, brakes, etc. But if all that is taken care of then hit performance mods like intake, exhaust to start you off.

Suspension and handling is one of my favorite areas to work on, and coilovers or springs/struts, tires, wheels, struts bars will make a dramatic improvement to Tib.

Short throw shifters, hid, angel eyes, are other great ideas to improve style.

I would leave paint and body for last. Their is no since on doing it first then f-ing up the new paint while trying to install something else ya know.

Just take it a step at a time and don't go super cheap on parts. i.e. e-bay lol

It's an 05, I got it in December, it has 127,000 miles, and I found this awesome place down the road that builds drift cars and races them. So ill probably get their help too
Although a may look like a good idea, a tiburon being a front wheel drive car will never be able to drift. They may be able to put on your performance upgrades but as for a tiburon and a drift car, those words wont ever be in the same sentence.
