Hi everybody, I am new to forums in general. I am going to look at and possibly purchase an 01 Tiburon with the 2.0 4 cyl and a manual transmission (I believe all gear heads should have a manual) I am not looking to build the fastest car in the world. The car I am looking at has 169000 miles on it so I don't think it will be great. That is fine for me but I need it to be good daily driver for now so I can save for something else... I want this to be an eventual project car that I can learn on and build up. With all that said, I was wondering if there is anything I should be worried about with so many miles? And what can I do without breaking the bank, my budget for the build will eventually be $8000, and what I should expect to achieve? I am not just looking for hp I found a lot of things for that but I have not found anything to build up the tranny to handle power. This will be my first build and I just want to do it right so this seemed like a good place to start.

Welcome to the forum. This site is mainly for the GK platform. The car you are looking at is an RD. There are a few members on here who have some pretty sweet RD builds. What are your power goals? That is a place to starts. I can pretty much tell you to get power on that platform boosting is about the only viable route.

Oh that explains why I could not find much info about that year here. Thank you, Jake89! I do not know what to expect but I was looking to build a good street car around 300-350 hp if possible without worrying about damage, that is with turbo and complete rebuild on engine, and without nos.
