Yeh well the delta displacement sucks dont you think..Well hopefully the S/C will give it the life it needs.
yes it is a tiny v6, but 2.7L>2.0L

Well to help with your question Jlb.....putting 4-5 psi on top of a 10.0:1 V-6 motor versus 10-12 on a 8.8:1 4 cylinder motor you're doing 2 things at once , first , you've already got more compressed air in the cylinder on the v-6 motor so it wouldnt need the as much psi to match or exceed the cylinder pressure of a lower compression motor with more psi being stuffed into it , second, the extra 2 cylinders and displacement of the 2.7 versus the smaller 2.0 with more psi is the main reason in this case the v-6 platform is better power wise.....now that they stuffed a turbo on the Balt it kinda changed the rules of the game a little bit as it's more efficient air stuffing abilities and better tuned platform made the Balt a better competitor:3_winkthu that's as laymen as I could explain it , did that help?

wait till you race the cobalt ss turbo. they are very quick. theres a video on youtube of the stock ss turbo makeing more whp than a stg II SS/SC
LOL!!!
I know exactly what you mean. My younger brother has one..............and damn its fast.
I don't know what I was thinking about having a go.

Seriously, I don't know how hard he was pushing it but by the time we got to the end of 4th he only had 3 1/2 to 4 cars on me.

so basically a stock cobalt ss could walk on tibs? yes. i raced a saturn ion redline and lost by a carlength

and they come stock witha supercharger right? older ones did. 08 and newer are turboed

up until i think 08 they come supercharged after that they are turbo's and much faster, but either will walk a stock tib

My best friend has an 06 cobalt supercharged. They come with 205 for horsepower and 200 flat for torque. They run 11 psi stock making those numbers. It isn't all that impressive. Do some research and see what a Tiburon GT runs for numbers off of 11 psi lol. Makes 205 look like a joke. Drop the spare tire and the jack and the cars are only about a 120 or so pound difference. You can beat them N/A if you know how to drive and from a dig. And of course you would need I/H/E a tune and some power to the wheels mods like motor mounts a torque damper and a lightweight pulley set should get you right up next to them. The turbo cobalt tho? Forget it. 265 on pretty much the same amount of boost. They take SRT-4s by a car or so.

It can if you dont know how to drive. Otherwise it is a bit slower stock for stock ... if you are talking about SS and not about SS/SC

I had a run with SS/SC from the light, i was behind him .... it was really close, for some reason it was spiting out good amount of black smoke...maybe had bigger injectors and was not tunned

I love racing SS cobalts even if I lose. They wheel hop like crazy and doing so rips up their transmission. The more their tranny breaks down, the better I feel for them buying such an over-appreciated car. :3_got-hoo

These things are just as annoying as the SRT-4 Neons. A glorified F/I'd FWD coupe. (edit: Except the 4-door neon)

the new turbo SS's are quite nice. quick as snot. My friend has one, just barely any upgrades and hes way into the 300whp area.

However, I can only foresee these things doing same as what srt-4 did. lose 50% of value withint first 10months lol
If I can find a srt4 that has just had everything replaced on it bushings, tranny, clutch etc etc for 10g USD and its a 05. Hmm..

+1

There's too many SRT-4's and SS cobalts around post that's driving me nuts. They talk so much **** yet my car actually holds its value really well. Sure you're faster (only because you're F/I....but talk **** when I'm turbo'd then we'll see who's laughing).

They're as bad as the majority (note...I said majority not all) of Honda owners.
