You sir are an idiot If your talking about wag's car. seriously you cant know what your talking about if you say an sti doesnt make decent power. Im not going to say that they are the fastest or greatest performance cars out there because they are not, but they are an excellent modding platform, and I would buy far take one over a pos neon any day, and they have far more potential then a srt neon any day, there is no argument that you can say that can convince me or anyone else on here that knows enough about cars elsewise. and believe .me I know my sh!t

GUYS the srt-4's back fire has more hp and torque then our car's could ever make.

LOL.....um , no..............I've embarrassed more than my share of low 12 second daily driven Srt's but it doesnt mean I beat them down cuz most of the heavy hitter Srt' guys out here have an excellent sence of humour and are scary a ss practicle jokers and given there'as the occasional Newb Srt kid that has that my car kills all complex but that goes for some of us Tib guys out here as well......Oh and btw, I got to drive the new Turbo Balt, and it was a blast. I mean it wasnt the fastest thing I've been in but none the less it was a kick in the azz and this one had the larger down pipe and bigger exhaust with the tune, I really thought it was cool when it started to break the tires loose in the middle of third gear :3_yes:

No actually they're pretty frikkin fun cars to drive and they really are for the most part cheap to modify and able to handle those mods on stock componants .....I'm not and avid fan of the Sti but if I was on a road course, that thing would be a blast even in stock form. Dont judge the car bases on the tools that drive them , get behind the wheel of one and find a nasty dirt road somewhere and it,s rediculas addiction

I'm glad your friend got a gt35r for his SRT-4 and wants to race me from a roll now to somehow prove a point that his car isnt a "turd". Talk about having a inferiority complex, damn.

Wrx are AWD fail. Yes they will beat you out of a dig, but they drop off rapidly after launch. The only reason I want a WRX is for twisties.

Nope, I plan to skip 9's all together just a lowly 10 sec car 346ci NA, next year 370 ci, better heads, single plane intake and a direct port kit...

iv been reading this thread and its quite funny. But ill help u guys out and tell u what the cobalts push in terms of hp/tq so u know what to shoot for. I own one and i love when people laugh at me when they stop beside me in what they think is a faster car. They dont laugh for long.

The cobalt ss/sc stock is supposed to be doing 205 hp and 200 tq, but most guys dyno at 215+ hp and i dont know how much tq
sc stage 2 is 245ish hp. im sure they dyno more around 250.
cobalt ss/tc which i own.at 16psi stock 260hp/260tq
guys are dynoing at around 240hp 250tq, but it varys.
ss/tc with stage 1 upgrade. 290hp/320tq it just came out so who knows what dyno says. but for us guys who find it to expensive at $1000ish and go for tunes like trifecta which is 250, or 350 for a select a tune. which the tune only tunes on when u put the traction control button to competitive mode, or turn on ur cruise control, however u want it programed.

anyway with trifecta at 22psi with a cold air intake im at about 315whp and 340wtq. guys with a no cat downpipe are doing 330whp and 346wtq. so pretty cheap to get alot of power out of it.

so far the most that anyone is putting down on totally stock motor is 400 whp. which is pretty sick. who knows how much more this thing can take.

so ya, dont try to race a ss cobalt unless ur boosted, ur gonna loose.

Hey everyone. I'm not a tib owner so dont flame me to bad. Just wanted to ask the OP where in NS did this take place. I live in edmonton but im from nova scotia (halifax) and just wondering which cobalt he just bought and where. I use to own a 2007 Cobalt SS Supercharged...swapped the M62 for a TVS, had meth injection...pretty much every bolt on you can get. Was making 20psi of boost and made 281whp...tune needed alot of work (11.9AFR, 25* of timing, 149* IAT2 after 3 pulls on the highway in 30*C weather)...afr went abit rich at 3700rpm which caused me to drop power all of a sudden. Should have been 302whp without that drop. But i said **** it and bought a 370z. I really want to thank most of you and not trash talking the cobalt like most people do. You guys seem like a good bunch.

But like i said before, just wondering where the OP got the cobalt from that he bought....that he raced..lol.
