IMO, I thonk we should have a separation between 5 speed and 6 speed Tiburons somewhere on the forum. I noticed the majority is 6 speed but for the 5 speed guys it's kinda hard to find someone to get help with any kind of 5 speed transmission issues whether it be transmission, shift linkage, clutch, pressure plate, ratios, etc. Just a thought

this might not be a bad idea, im still a noob by any means and frequently get confused while reading all the 5/6 posts....maybe have like a sub-forum for each?? or people should just post topics differently like: 6SPEED Which Flywheel is the best?

Yeah I definitely agree. It would make things alot easier i think. Any other opinions?

pretty sure clutch, flywheel and shift linkage is the same between the two. only difference is the reverse lockout on the 6 speed. ratios obviously a bit different as well.

the five speed is built by hyundai and the 6 speed was outsourced to some other company, I cant remember the name though.

I can't remember the name, but it's the same Japanese company that Nissan buys their trannies for the Vspec Sentra, not sure if it's the same as the older Altimas and Maximas. My friend is a Nissan master tech, he was telling me about it. Supposedly a badass transmission.

See alot of people are confused about the difference. The linkage in the engine bay of the 6 speed is mounted completed different of the 5 speed. then you have the reverse lockout and if you look at Mitchell or Alldata diagrams, the clutch set ups are actually different

don't apologize. I'm just trying to make some kind of a point. Not many people know how much of a difference there is. And it goes beyond drivetrain. Interior electronics like the head unit, multi guage and some other "Korean" spec perks of the 6 speed. I'm sure there is alot of people that want to know if you can install the multi gauge in the GT or if the head unit is a direct replacement.

I have an 08 SE six speed.... do you know if the multi gauge is plug and play? is the wiring there?

Thanks.

first off.....if the car didnt come with it there is no harness to wire it up........secondly, diodedynamics sells a plug and play harness for cheap but you have to solder it in..........thirdly and finally, WTF did you not search and instead dig up an old thread! /thread
