Re: 8/16/08 Steel City Sharks Meet @ Settler's Cabin

I'M IN!!! is it going to be a picnic thing too? like before?

i don't think we should do the alchohol permit either.

and one question. are we going to be able to have a car showing/mod meet?
the guys in the poconos meet thread, they had to change their location last minute cause the person at the park said "you can park however many cars of the same type here. but no hoods opened or stereo's blasting, cause then it's considered a car meet (or something like that), and they don't allow it" or some bullshiyat like that. so, just want to make sure we will be allowed to show off our cars and work on them before we make the reservations.

and does anyone know how, and is COMFORTABLE with taking off the door panels. both front and rear to replace the speakers??

everyone at up a **** load of hotdogs last time. they were a big seller! (minus...the ....selling)
and if someone brings a watermellon, make sure to bring a knife. we wont split up the duties of the knife/watermellon. incase the knife person doesn't show again!

Re: 8/16/08 Steel City Sharks Meet @ Settler's Cabin

hey look into the Gilbert Love pavillion.... im looking at pics of the "groves" and that looks like the easiest to use (its the handicapped one lol) but it looks like one of the few that has sidewalks leading to it....

and it does say in their laws that we arent allowed to move tables

and we arent allowed to:

Article I - Prohibited Activities

The below-listed activities are specifically prohibited in any area lying within a County Park. Exceptions to these prohibitions will be recognized only upon possession and presentation of a written authorization signed by the Director of the Parks Department, by signs posted by authorized representatives of the Director, or by immediate direction of a County Police Officer.

Section 1. Motor Vehicles

Driving or parking on grass areas or trails;
Cleaning, polishing, washing, greasing, lubricating, or repairing;
Landing any aircraft;
Operating any motorized conveyance including but not limited to snowmobiles, motor boats, all terrain vehicles, motorcycles, or motor scooters except that street licensed vehicles may be used in parking lots, or roads open to traffic.

so maybe if we say its a mod meet and we will clean anything that happens, they will give us a permit for it?

Does that mean we can't work on stereos or speakers??? hmm, its internal and hoods won't be propped, course, we're looking for attention and still might get *****ed at.

Re: 8/16/08 Steel City Sharks Meet @ Settler's Cabin

even though it does not say modding....just everything else lol

Re: 8/16/08 Steel City Sharks Meet @ Settler's Cabin

oh well, wont be modding my car though...

btw, i finished a few things: cross drilled / slotted rotors and painted calipers. I didn't paint my brackets red like my calipers because I still dont know if i want them black or silver, so now its dirty grey still. lol

going to paint the rear drum cover black, so maybe i'll do my front caliper bracket black too.

Did I talk you into the Wilwood?? haha

I can help you with your chrome handles, will take only a few minutes and have to remove the inner door panels.

Re: 8/16/08 Steel City Sharks Meet @ Settler's Cabin

wouldn't modding be the same as repairing? they look at it as working on a car? well, i'm still down. as long as a cop doesn't roll by or someone rats on us.

anyone selling a front strut bar?

You're probably right, makes sense. I swear we have to have a MOD meet at a farm land or some abandoned shopping mall parking lot. haha.

Re: 8/16/08 Steel City Sharks Meet @ Settler's Cabin

u got the 5120? im looking at the 7120, sweet!
The 7120 is nice, there are only a few differences:
1. face - I have an audio nob, 7120 doesn't, and my dvd loads at the top and this one on the bottom... and has a cassette (i have no need for cassette anymore haha) and motorized face.
2. 7120 has an SD slot (for GPS updates), mine has another usb (mini for the updates).
3. 7120 comes with remote, but I already had one so mine works with my old remote.

It would be a nice buy either way, to get this one or one like mine. enjoy. One thing I dont see is zone control, which was important to me. what that will let me do is play movies and have it only emit sound in the rear speakers (and if i have rear tv's, it will let me display the movie in the rear monitors and let me still use nav in the front monitor), for rear passengers (like my son) and my navigation i set to only make sound in my front driver side speaker. now 7120 may still do that too, but doesnt say in the spec detail. however, in a tiburon, you'll probably have no need for a zone control sound.
