This is a DIY on how to get your Sub amp’s power wire into your car WITHOUT drilling holes.
Tools you will need
- Philips head screw driver
- 10mm wrench
- 3 or 4 zip ties
- a stiff wire to fish the amp wire through
This is for a 2003
First things first, disconnect the negative battery terminal with your 10mm wrench. If your car has all the plastic engine pieces, take off the ones covering the battery. You’ll also want to take off the inside floor trim by the door, the foot rest and the plastic piece that’s in-between the foot rest and the floor door trim.
Now you’ll want to remove your front driver’s side tire. Once it is off, there’s about 9 screws(one of them will require the 10mm wrench) you need to take out for the tirewell to come down.
Observe the photos… I circled where the screws are in yellow and the order of the photos are from right to left.
Once the screws are out you can pull the flap down and it will look like this…
Looking to the right of the battery down by the back of the headlight there is a hole on the side with a thick black wire coming out. In my photos, I already installed the wire (the RED wire) so you can see where it goes. (Remember to leave yourself a little slack in the amp wire for when you connect it to the battery)
After feeding a little into the hole if you look in the tire well you should be able to find where its coming out of.
If you follow the black cable you'll notice that it feeds into a 2inch rubber gromet. This leads into your car. I cut a little hole into the rubber and fed my amp wire through it.
I zip-tied my amp wire right to the black cable going across the top of the wheel well.
I then took about 2ft of a regular stiff wire and taped the end of the regular wire to the amp wire.
Now its time to find the hole that the wire will be coming out of from inside your car. If you go by the brake pedal and look up behind the dash to the left, you should be able to find a hole with some wires coming out. This is where your amp wire will be coming out of.
Now that you know where the holes are, you can feed the end of your regular stiff wire through and try to find it on the inside of your car. once you find it, keep pulling until you get your amp wire into your car. Then tape up the amp wire where you pushed it through the rubber gromet.
The hard part is over! I hope this helped.
