aluminum or carbon fiber interior door panels

well, as i'm waiting on the body kit to be worked on...i've decided to see what you guys have to offer for this

we all know that the interior of the tiburon/coupe/tuscani is kinda drab...it got fixed up in 2005 with the interior "metal" pieces...and of course you can buy the kdm interior peices. additionally aftermarket shifter plates, temp dial knobs, and vent rings are available from mox and ark, among other companies also...

pending a joint effort between mox and i (we gota work out details), we are gonna be making something available to everyone...

what do you guys thinks of aluminum pieces that match as closely as possible to the OEM "metal" pieces to replace the door panels.

for those of you who remember, dreamka4u sold carbon fiber door panels. all they did was replace the side door panels...you take off the cloth or leather, and replace it with this. you have to screw it into place. however, i'll be looking to see if we can make it fit like stock so no screwing necessary

right now i'm looking into the possibility of aluminum and a slight chance of CF. aluminum i think would be best because of it's nice contrast with the dark interior. but of course there will be the cf whores ;)

i might as well throw in a shifter plate possibility also.

these pieces will be engraved with something...not sure...but it'll be small and in the corner...kinda like a trademark sign...or possibly a small lettering of tuscani...or mox-ark limited or something...just throwing out ideas...mebe even number them to make it really unique per person...

pictures to follow...i need to pick up my pieces that i left up in nyc

i do think that just an aluminum plate would look kind of funny-
but if you would put something like a diamond cut plate or maybe a design integrating the tuscani or elisa 2.7 on it -- now that would catch some eyes.
i have the aluminum dash kit in mine and a lot of aluminum add ins and it really brings out the interior but my doors are a little drab.
i would be interested for sure

I think brushed aluminum interior door panels would look great. Don't need to be engraved with anything but if you need I cool logo or something I can work on it! Silver CF wouldn't be bad either but I'd love to see aluminum that closely resembles the 05 metal grain interior pieces.

Also, if they mount in with tabs great, but it might look good if we can use some flush mounted allen key type screws to mount them, IMO. Make it look a little industrial.

you know what would really make ur interior look better, get rid of the plastic fake diamond plate and get real diamond plate, then get rid of the stock shifter and replace it with a short throw shifter than get rid of the death star sitting on top of it.....

btw ark good idea i imagine it would take off if the price can remain reasonable

of course there can be multiple styles...those with a HUGE tuscani logo across or something...or just plain, or with a little logo in a corner...and those of you who know mox's work, know he does a great job

Great idea! Looking forward to seeing some pics of this. Having some allen head nuts around the edge could look good even if they are only for looks. A lot of the interior parts have those.

That sounds great, both CF and Aluminum for everybody !!!
Personally with the price of CF,,,,,the Aluminum version would be alot cheaper to produce and buy

to save the time and money of shipping the c/f one to me i might just take the door panel off next week , remove the piece i want , take the cloth material off and use the original as a template.
i can't do it this weekend, but early next week.
the pics of the c/f one would still be great and the measure ments would be nice to compare to what i get.
i think the c/f one would be bigger to cover the cloth, most people won't want to remove the door panel and take off the original piece, i think they would want to go over top.

what do you thnk ?

You mean just cover th piece ther now? That would be no good. It's gotta be a full replacement...I mean it's super easy to take the door panel off.

I'm interested in something that'd match the metal pieces... As much as I'm attempting to become a C/F whore... I'd rather keep the interior metallic and leave the C/F for the outside.

it can be a full replacement as easy as it can be a cover up. i think the replacement is a better idea aswell, i just want to see what the majority says.

me too. mox...the cf panels require that you take off the panels too. i think replacements would be best. you sure you don't need the cf ones as a template?
