Anyone ever done this?

Well...I've had the fiberglass resin and mat sitting around for a while. I've been pondering about what to use it on for my car, and I think I've finally figured out something to do to start me off. I want to fiberglass the leather part of my door (the piece right above the arm rest, right below the door handle). Then bondo it, smooth it out, and paint it to match the rest of my interior pieces (switches, console, vents, etc.) What I'm wondering is if anyone has ever done this before, to tell me if a beginner such as myself would be able to do it, and if anyone has done it, pictures of what it looks like. I know they sell carbon fiber ones already made, but for some reason I really hate that look.

I'd have to say you could go about it several ways. One way would be to take the pieve out and if it wraped in leather, take the leather and padding off and then fiber glass it up. Or if its hard plastic you could take it out, put tin foil or seran wrap over it, glass a couple layers up, remove the piece and now you have a mold. I don't have any first hand experience with that yet, but theoritaclly it would work great.

You know man working with F/G is not real hard the hardest part is getting it sanded down right and looking good acuall laying of the layers is easy. I would recomend that you take that piece out and wrap it with foil or plastic and then make the mold. You can make it look great but it will take some time. F/G is not a one day thing . Something that small should not take you forever though, once you lay a few layers of it you can sand the hell out of it to make it smooth then primer and then paint and clear. Dont listen to anyone telling you it is rice be cause if it is done right and painted good it will look good in the car. It is just how much time and effort you want to put in it!!

Why would you make a mold, it isnt worth the trouble. Honestly its a couple hours of fiberglass work, anyone who really wants to do that (which looks like this is the only guy since noone else has attempted it) can just take the metal plate out of their door panel and fiberglass it themselves.

I was thinking about going fiberglass, but went with suede instead. I figured I didnt want that shinyiess in the interior, unless you did alot more than just door panels.

"oh its rice, oh its rice." Shut the fukc up. Its his car. Wow, thats a hard thing to comprehend isn't it. If you guys weren't little kids about this and kept your off topic opinions to your god damned selves we wouldn't have had black people put suade in their esclades and that ignorance would have been kept to itself.

So how about this? We cut the, black people put this in their car while ricers put this in your car so why don't you do put this in your car bs. And if you have some tips on how to fiberglass an interior piece or have done it before, post away. If not, go post your bullchit somewhere else.

But how can you do something so ricey to a tiburon? Its not like its from Asia or something.

Dude, why don't you just STFU. People offered him opinions, an idiot posted a stupid comment. Boom, thats that. Go spout you sh!t elsewhere. You better get used to people posting useless sh!t. It happens all the time on here. So if it hurts your feelings, there's a little x up in the right hand corner of your screen. I suggest you use it.
