To me this sounds like a fuel delivery problem or air intake. Make sure your airfilter is clean and there are no obstructions or nothing is lose around the intake or airbox.

As for fuel, possible its a issue with the fuel pump or some of your injectors. Or it could be spark, but then it should be worse at full throttle.

Possible it could be the throttle cable too which you should have, but it doesnt sound like thats the problem if this only occurs when accelerating from a dead-stop.

My 6-speed V6 Tib isn't exactly 'slow' off the line, but the engine doesn't feel as powerful until it gets over 3,500 RPM. In fact if starting off at 1,000 RPM, going full throttle, I can literally feel a slight bump in power increase once over 3,500 RPM.

What your describing is a bit of jerkiness when trying to accelerate from a dead stop on a cold engine... This, to a certain is extent is slightly normal, but it should be minimal, especially with an auto. I think there is something wrong with your car... maybe you should take it to another Hyundai dealership and have them look, or go down to a local garage and ask a guy to take a quick ride with you and see if he can tell you what he thinks the problem might be.

This just sounds fuel/air related to me...
