So this post is more of a heads up since I already had the problem and had it fixed.

So I am sure people reading this thread know what the BCM (Body Control Module) is, but in case you don't. It is located inside the vehicle, and all the fuses's inside the car plug into it, but the same unit controls all your lights; and if your tib is a 01 and up with an immobilizer it controls that too.

Now what happened too me was my left turn light got stuck on solid, it would not flash and would not turn off even with the car off, unless I pulled the fuse. So I took it to the dealership, and it turnout the be the flasher for the left turn signal.

Oh but wait instead of having replacable flasher units, Hyundai buys really expensive BCM'S made by Bosch and the flashers are not replacable. Instead you have to replace the whole BCM unit, and it cost's $500.00 (Cnd), plus an hour's labour to install it. Now I figured this would be covered under my extended Hyundai warranty, but no and it isn't even covered under the original manufactures warranty. So if you have a warranty it doesn't mean anything because Hyundai won't cover it.

So in the end it cost just under $700.00 to have it fixed just so I could have a left turn signal, but I am told it is very rary, I was just the unlucky one.

I had mine replaced by the manufactures warranty and the dealer replaced and returned it to them... I paid Zip...

in other words... you got screwed big time

dealer print out was $600 USD for BCM and $75 USD for labor... you can get it much cheaper through a wholesale parts dealer im sure... Im not positive but I think "FIXER" (AJ) had a connection to get these and possibly "lowsanoma" (John) could get you 1... not really sure...

next time you have any problems... you should ask for suggestions 1st... just an FYI

They are covered for 5 years 60,000 miles.

I replace about two a year that need a BCM for this reason.

just had the same prob, but it was also covered under warranty. there is a diy on this problem, and i think the relay is about five bucks! sorry i dont know how to link this to the diy post

Sorry to bring up a 6 month old thread but now it's my turn. Sure enough on the way home tonight I got the dreaded "stuck left turn signal" and I knew right away what it was (thanks NT.com). Called the dealer as soon as I got home and I'll be droping it off at 8am tomorrow. Results to follow.

BTW, I was able to get the light to go off by messing with the turn signals. Turn them, on and off until it stays off. Then I locked the doors with the remote and it stayed on. Alternating un-lock and lock until it stayed off worked (so far).

UPDATE: Got to the dealer at 8:00am and left around 9:30am. Yes it was the BCM and it was replaced (under warranty) in less than 24 hours after the first symptom appeared. The guy at the service desk told me the part alone was $525 if I had to replace it out of warranty.

This was my first warranty repair and I'm very impressed. Great service (Conecilli Hyundai in Conshohocken, PA).

The best part was I could hear the exhaust from the waiting room when they drove it in and when they drove it out. I could see the service bays through a small window and I watched (and heard) the 2 techs rev the engine a few times and check out the car.

Guess I'm not the only one. Except mine is the right turn signal. Our Hyundai dealer out here sucks. They don't have the part till Tuesday or sometime next week, so the service chick was like "Just jiggle the turn signals till it turns off."
I asked about pulling the fuse and she told me not to.
Thanks for all the info.

Pulling the fuse isn't a problem and will save your battery if you can't get the light to go out. Be glad it's under warranty because it's a $500+ part. The service guys said it's a very common problem for Tibs. Good luck.

Ok. Dumb question here now.
As far as pulling the fuse. The service dept. at the dealership said not to pull the fuse.
And not to disconnect the battery. Understood on the battery part.
So now, since I don't see one for the Turn Signal, specifically, which fuse should I pull?
Thanks for the help!

I kid you not, I test drove my car a couple of times before I bought it ... the day I was picking it up, the right signal light was stuck on. Had to pull the fuse (which disabled both)

They ended up ordering a new BCM and installing it which fixed it.

I am in need of a BCM as well...My locks lock and unlock on their own, the passenger side window doesn't work, the trunk release doesn't work, the remote entry or the rear wiper?? Someone please help I can pay 200.00 shipped. I'm new to this whole forum thing so I apologize for posting here, not sure how else to do it??

The trunk release should just be a cable. Maybe someone else can help with that one but everything on your list has nothing to do with your BCM.

Passenger window- fourgreensautoparts has OEM motors for $35 on ebay. The dealer will want close to $200 for one. There is a DIY on here to give you instructions on how to replace it. 2-3 hour job at the most. I managed to change mine in the snow in 2-1/2 hours freezing my fingers off.
Rear wiper- same thing. You just need to replace the motor.
Remote entry- Did you check your battery? If its a new battery you need to re-program the key fob. I think it's either turn the key to the acc position or the on position for 10 seconds, hit the unlock button then turn to the off position. Last time I changed mine I think I had to try twice to get it to work.
Door locks- sounds like the lock actuator is going. Again, maybe someone else can help you with that one. Do a search on the site for the problem and you should get a quick answer. It seems to happen to a lot of peeps.

Another way to get the frozen turn signal off is to hit your hazards button, that will turn both and anf off and just time it right so they go off.

I would highly recommend using the DIY on newtiburon to fix this problem, the relay is 5 bucks, and having a pro solder it on is like 25.

My dealership quoted me $1050 for a BCM ha!

I am not very mechanical and figured this one out. It is totally worth it.

I've been through 2 BCM's since buying the Tib.

I have an extra BCM here, doesn't have the signal flasher problem, but my
car WILL NOT start with it. Says 0volts to all sensors. My 2nd one was out of warranty.
$750 for the BCM itself from a Hyundai dealership in Miramichi, New Brunswick (Trevor's Hyundai) who are awesome. The ******-assed Calgary Hyundai wanted $1100 for the exact same part.

Anybody ever figure out the fix for car not starting via BCM problems ?

So I was actually about to buy the whole BCM unit for my car cause a lot of the electrical units for my interior were not working. Door lights, some dash lights, stereo, clock resetting, etc. So I looked around and saw this on youtube
. I checked that yellow slot ( left corner side of the interior fuse box ) with a 10A fuse and it turns out mine was blown out too. So I changed it with one of my spare red 10A fuses and boom, it worked, everything was back to normal. So before buying the entire bcm unit, go ahead and check that part out for any people out there in the future. Save yourself the money, stress, and time.
