I am currently thinking about building my own race track, I am looking at ¼ mile and 1/8 mile tracks, and however I am partial towards a regular circuit style race track. I know that there is 1,320’ in a ¼ mile and 660’ in a 1/8 mile track and this is where I get confused. In order to have enough land for the tracks I will need 3 to 5 acres for a 1/8 mile track and 20+ acres for a ¼ mile track. The land is not cheap and neither is the concrete or asphalt that would be needed to make this work; the last thing I want to happen, is to wake up dead because the track is uneven and cracking. So for the guys who have raced on these different types of tracks help I decide what will be the best bang for the buck, since this will be coming out of my pocket and not for the publics use. Any N.
