Bumpy Ride?

I have a 2003 Tibby GT with 100,000 miles on it. It's a pretty bumpy ride and it feels rough. I want to fix this problem, so my car rides smoothly over bumps. What do i need to replace? and some brand recommendations would be nice. Thanks

Oh yeah, dont bother telling me to search because i went through all of the pages and didn't find the answer to my question. That's where you guys come in. Thanks

To start off, is your car lowered? Do you have bigger than stock rims? Both of these would give you a rougher/bumpier ride.

no, they are stiffer than OEM, therefore they will be bumpier. i dont know what youre looking for here... tibby aint never gonna ride like a cadillac. it can actually handle.

If you want the most comfortable ride possible, then you should buy the OEM struts from the dealer. Anything aftermarket is going to be a rougher ride.

new shocks is what you need

or you could get the koni adjustables so you can set the dampening to whatever you want

lol it will always be a rougher ride.

it just adjusts from stiff to "oww my behind" stiff.

A bumpy ride... at 100k miles on stock struts?

..... eh, is one of them blown or something?

Before you buy anything, check your sway bars. A worn out one (the ends, or the rubber mounts) can cause a clinking sound similar to a blown strut, and a rough ride over bumps. Rule that out first.

How many of us have to recommend the KYB GR-2 struts over OEM for you to get the message?:3_confuse

Most comfortable = OEM.

Better handling, cornering, etc but a bit harsher = Koni > KYB. Add springs.

Harshest but best performance = coilovers.
