Care for leather?

I've searched online without much success, so I figured I would ask here.

What kind of leather are in the new Tiburons? I have a model with leather bolsters and I want to know what I can do to clean them.. will just water do it? Or do I need something else?

Also it seems like the leather is a little bit tough, and has somewhat of a matte finish.. I would think that the leather would shine a little bit. Is this normal or should I use some sort of conditioner?

I use the liquid Meguiars care for all my leather. Great smell and does an awesome job.

So I bought the wipes that you guys recommended, and I must say they did an amazing job on my seats! The leather went from dry and rough to moisturized and smooth, without a whole lot of residue afterwards! I was completely surprised at how well they worked! I am definitely recommending this stuff to my friends

Meguiars is good, but I also like Turtle Wax ICE leather cleaner and protectant because it cleans and conditions well without making the leather look artificially shiny and slick feeling. I use ICE for weekly cleaning and Meguiars occasionally for more conditioning.

i mostly use ICE. it works great. when i have a car meet and i want to really clean it up i pull out the meguiars. They both are great products and i use the wipes as well and love every bit of it. (This is on another car i have cloth seats in the tib they dont get hot)

OK, no no and no. I have 2 products here for you to use. First is Zaino leather care products.

Zaino Leather Cleaner = http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2.../merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Z-9&Category_Code=Zaino&Product_Count=14

Zaino Leather in a Bottle = http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2...merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Z-10&Category_Code=Zaino&Product_Count=15

Also if you want something you can buy at the local auto store, buy 303 Aerospace Cleaner. You can use it on all of your interior plastics, vinyls, and leathers. It will clean revitalize and protect the leather seats from UV rays. I doubt any products listed above do all that.

He knows what he's talking about.

Zaino is a bit expensive for the average joe though.

Try a combination of Lexol pH leather cleaner and conditioner. They both come in liquid form or wipes.

Keep in mind that there's not much leather in our tibs. For the balance of the plastic and vinyl surfaces, try Vinylex. Your dash will love you.

If you really want to go baller then skip the Zaino and get some Swissvax Leather Cleaner and Leather Milk combined for around $80. http://www.detailersdomain.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=284

Leather Masters Trio is another expensive but top notch leather cleaning and conditioning producer. http://www.leatherworldtech.com/category.aspx?categoryID=24&gclid=CODm-JKG0pUCFQmdnAodwx0njA

Unless you own a very nice luxury car then these products are obviously not worth it compared to the value of the tib :p.

Swissvax is really good. Anything by them will be a top of the line product thats for sure. You pay the premium however. May I suggest an cheaper alternative by my personal favorite detail company. http://www.chemicalguys.com/Leather_Cleaner_And_Conditioner_Combo_Deal_p/spi_109_16.htm

Cheap and its chemical guys which means it will work as advertised and work very well. I use quite a few products by these guys and have been impressed by every one of them.

I also support Chemical Guys. They have great products that do work as advertised.

I use there Citrus Wash + Gloss car wash, Jetseal109, and Ez Creme Glaze very often on my and other cars that I detail.
