Cones shape looks better than a plain cylinder. A cylinder would give you more surface area with the same base diameter though.

K&N cone. you know, the one that has the filter on the top and the sides of the cone. same surface space, and it looks better than the cylinder

 

i think the flow stream lines from cone and cyliner filters would be the same, hence cone saves material for manufacturer, with same performance for us users.

 

yea i dont think the differance would be much, about the same and even if there is u wouldnt feel it, though i did vote cone cuz the cylinders kinda ugly haha

Cone... I think it looks better.. and honestly just my personal opinion and most likely completely wrong.. I think it will perform better as well.. but that is just me...

 

I would think the angle of entry on a cone would be easier, much like smoother bends in an intake or exhaust are a good thing for the air flow. On a cylinder, the air has to come in, hit opposing air directly, and have to take a right angle into the pipe. I would think the angle of the airflow for the cone would make it much smoother air flow, but then again, I'm just guessing here. Also, like a few said, I doubt it matters much to even notice. :3_bier:
