if you can get a new gasket quickly for the upper IM and TB quickly... then why not? But I think I've re-compressed each of those gaskets on my car about 5 times each with no problems (although I'm sure some people, like fallen aquila, will come in and scream to no end, "BUY NEW GASKETS! DON'T RISK A LEAK!")

Yeah, you can reuse it a couple times.

well, i changed the plugs and wires just fine, and i'm pretty sure i put everything back together ok, but my CEL is on. the car drives fine though. I drove from my apartment to the store (about 3 mi) and back, it was about a block from my apartment on my return trip the CEL came back on. what do you guys think it is?

You sure you put your plug wires back on the right way? Check your vaccum hoses and AIR sensor behind the manifold to make sure its clipped in, also make sure your TB sensor are in the correct spots. Take some water and spray near the manifold gasket to check for leaks.

possible causes.

Internally failed IAT sensor
Faulty connection at IAT sensor
Open in IAT ground circuit or signal circuit
Short to voltage in IAT signal circuit or reference circuit
IAT harness and/or wiring routed too close to high-voltage wiring (e.g. alternator, spark plug cables, etc.)
Faulty PCM (less likely but not impossible)

Word to the wise, aftermarket wires are good for 3-4 years. After that they go sour.
Heres my video of my magnacores after they have reached there lifespan. For the FI guys, spark blow out can occur.

Ok, so I went back outside in the FREEZING cold to check on it this morning. There was a wire harness that connected to the TB touching the plug wires, but my next question is this:
That's my TB. The thing I have circled looks like a hose goes there, but I don't remember taking one off of that spot. If one goes there which one is it?

This might seem like a stupid question, but the intake needs to be taken off to do the plugs?

Sorry for my ignorance, but I just bought my tib two days ago and haven't had much time to look into these things.

I did just to try to make things a little easier. The worst part is taking the UM apart from the TB. I have an Injen CAI and taking the intake off of the TB just made it that much easier to get to the 2 bolts on the underside of the TB to take it off of the UM.

no, you don't HAVE to...you can just take the TB off of the UIM and remove the UIM without touching the intake

...does make it easier tho

I still need to know if the thing in the red circle needs something hooked up to it, because right now it doesn't. my car drives just fine but my CEL is on with the code P0113 "intake air temp. circuit high input". Hopefully moving the harness away from the plug wires solved the issue, but i'd still like to know if there is supposed to be a hose hooked up into that spot.

I'm at work at the moment so I didn't get much time to look at the picture. Is that the spot where the stock resinator hose plugs into?
