So today the door worked fine all day until this afternoon. My buddy tried to open the pass door from the inside and it wouldn't open. Pull the handle and nothing. I opened up the panel and took a look and both cables seemed fine however I didn't get a good look at the latch side. The cable isn't broken as I couldn't pull it out from the handle side so is there a common issue that I am not aware of? This is a 7K mile car in top shape and I'm very disappointed that this type of crap is going on. I would take it in but I don't have the time or resources as I am in school and I need to drive every day. Any suggestions, common faults?

This is definately not a common problem.....or at least I haven't seen it around these boards. If it's under warranty I would take it in. They will give you a rental for the time it takes to fix the problem more than likely. It definately sounds like a cable/latch issue to me though.

Had the same issue, easy fix.

There is a small plastic clip that went for some reason. Mine was pink, replacement was green.
I took it off the cable for the lock and put it on the cable for the door because my dealer did not have it in stock.

There are 4 identical "clips" on each door. 2 on each cable. (door lock and opener) This clip is the same at each end of the cable.
Look at the end of the cable, there is a metal L shaped "hook" Yours is off, the clip likely broke

That hook fits in a hole, both ends are identical.

I can get the old one and take a pic if necessary, but should not be.

depending on what end came off (nice if it was inside handle side, but prolly not)
Take the door panel off, then look at the cable, if it looks like it is hooked up and working, then it is the same issue mine had.

Take the 3 screws out of the mech that holds the whole mech in place, mine had a bit if rust so I cleaned them up. the mech needs to come apart, when opened up, you will see the issue. Not hard to do, I am not mechanically inclined and I fix it in 20 mins.

Dude i can't open my driver side door from the inside. Have to roll the window down and reach out. It's a cable or something the hyundai place said. Should've gotten mine fixed 2 weeks ago and yesterday they ordered the wrong cable >_<

Awesome, the inside handle looked intact and that was what I assumed. I will try to get into the other side this weekend and check that part, thanks man!

I'll check the dealer and see if they have it in stock. You wouldn't happen to have the part number would you?

why worry about the part #? Just drive to the dealership, start slamming your fist on the service counter screaming "WARRANTY!!!!!" lol :)

For an 08 w/ 7k on the clock there is no reason for you to worry about fixing it yourself.

In the post above, see the 2 cable ends?

The 2 L shaped "hooks" that point down go into holes, the clips that hold them in the hole are off (mine broke).

Mine broke on the other end, inside the door, but all the ends and all the clips are the same.
Just the ones in the door mech are harder to get at. But still an easy fix. Dealer gave me the .88 cent part for free.

lol, fix it with a zip tie :)

Then put a shocker logo above one of your mufflers and be an elite drifter, they fix everything with zip ties :)

If I don't have time to head out there, I will do this, no problem. It's actually harder to wait on them than it is to do myself considering my background. I'm doing 16 hour days trying to finish up 2 years of school in less than one and handle my job on top of that.

All fixed. Turns out the metal "hook" had just come loose from the plastic clip. Took about 15 minutes and it works like new. Thanks for the heads up and help guys.
