I've heard 22 Pounds, but that could be way off. umm, i actually have my old flywheel sitting in my trunk, so I could weight it if YOU REALLY wanted to know ^_^

Dam so getting like a 10 or 11lb flywheel you will feel a diffrence ya think ?
MY GOD YES!!! =D

What exactly is the difference between aluminum and chromoly flywheel other than it being aluminum and steel?
Someone was talking about how you should get chromoly flywheels and I was curious.

Chromoly is stronger than steel, but it weighs less, requiring less material for an equally strong flywheel; thus weighing less than a stock steel flywheel.

The Aluminum flywheel is quite light, allowing the engine to rev very quickly. I haven't read much about the Chromoly flywheels available for the Tiburon, so i'm unsure if they are heavier than the common 10 pounds you would get if you went with Aluminum. The downside however is that Aluminum is much weaker comparatively to steel, and thus would have a shorter lifespan.

I'm sure if you looked up "chromoly vs aluminum" on google, you could find much more information about this than I could ever tell you. =)

Chromoly is just as light and stronger go chromoly if you can. I am using chromoly and I think mine is only 12lbs. It's just as light as aluminum.

Some have complained of quite a bit of noise, but mine is rather quiet over 2000 rpm. I don't have a chatter at idle either.

so when you buy a new clutch, do you also have to buy a new flywheel, or is that already part of buying the clutch?
Unless they specifically say that it's a combo deal, it will only be the clutch.
As for the flywheel, I believe you may have to resurface the original or get a new friction plate or whatever i was called...

What kind do you have? I dont want to have added noise from a new flywheel..
mine is clutchmasters fx300 clutch and fidanza aluminum flywheel
