Well as most of you know late last year my beloved '06 Assassin Moonlite blue Auto Tib was destroyed in a roll over well 3 roll overs ... Go HERE to read the story..
Well after fighting with the insurance company and getting the car paid off and some cash in my pocket, Bryce contacted me that his '04 Tib was for sale .. It had an Assassin kit on it already, a body kit, and custom paint .. Granted the color was not for my taste the car had a lot of potential. So I went to work, I pulled the engine, and replaced everything with everything out of my '06 including the my Blue Assassin. It took a few weeks or so but the result came out great ... No more than a week back on the road A girl rear ends me busting up the rear fiberglass bumper pretty bad. So again fighting with the insurance and again got a fair deal out of them ... So now the car is at the shop getting tore all the way down and started on the body rebuild.

Changes thus far. The Zeifro "Rhonda" rear bumper has been tossed, I replaced it with my stock bumper ( I liked the style a great deal more ). The side skirts are going to be redesigned to make the kit look a little cleaner and to flow better with the rear bumper. The entire car is being block sanded to make it glass smooth, and some other little odds and ends are being done as well ..

So here is the pics ... so follow away and I would love comments and suggestions as we go ...

Old Tib :2_cry:

First day at the shop .... Finding several problems with the way the previous place that painted it ... The holes that where filled in (Antenna and rear wiper) , "Shaved" where held in place by tape, and then puttied over top of the tape ... Rob ( Owner of APEX ) is going to weld and the smooth the holes ...

On a note I have seen Rob's work, and at this point would not let anyone in the Mobile area touch my car other than him ... very knowledgable and loves what he does ... BTW it was his idea to keep me updated with pics of the car as it was reworked ... never seen a shop do that ..

Day 1

If anyone can figure out just how many layers of paint are on this car I'll give them a cookie !!!

Seats removed to have a cobalt blue cloth insert put in them should look great when done.

Thanks a lot guys, and I will keep you updated on how everything comes out.

The paint is actually Cobalt Blue Candy, so depending what angle you are looking at it it's going to be a different shade ... so yeah it's going to look sweet !!

About the Coffee cup .. I had been looking for the perfect color for my car .. searching color cards .. looking around at other cards ... Then I was to the point I was getting aggravaited ... and just happened to look over at my coffee cup, and I be damned if it wasn't the exact color I had been searching for ...

LMAO ... already taken care of, I have one sitting in my shop ready to go on as soon as I get the car back ...

Yeah it is ... this guy actually loves his work and get's in to it quiet a bit ... somehting oyu don't see to often anymore, most places you see are pretty much chop shops ... especially the larger shops, all they can think about doing is get it in and get it out and that's it ...

Anytime you put this amount of work into a cars paint and body it get's expensive ... but for everything he is doing I think it is a fair price for sure, about $4700 ... for everything ...

#29 ·
No no ... wasn't for me man, I prefer a straight color and a nice clean look.

Just to give an example of Rob's work .... A bike he just finished up using orange candy ... very similar to what my car will look like but in the cobalt .. The bike is amazing looking ...

what is that second bike? do you know?...

and what was so "non-straight" about green?

#36 ·
The green was a flip/flop paint that changed colors, but when it changed went from green to yellow to brown ... so yeah not my cup of tea .. The cobalt that is going on is a candy, and NO bowling ball sparkles ...
