After working my ass of and paying for gas and food and all those other expenses, I just purchased Sparco four-point harnesses for my Tiburon. They're red and they hold me 1000% better than the stock belts, which I still have in when I have other people driving with me :) I just couldn't think of any place to post this since I am so excited. :)

Nice, i was the first one to put them in with the stock seats, i have been wearing them so long that i feel weird wearing the regular seat belt.

I'll have to find my camera to get pics, but we mounted the driver side harness

if you pop the trunk, the covering for the seat belt (you know where you pull them from, has a longer bolt then bolting them to the back of the driver side seat, we bolted the left shoulder strap there, we removed the back seat and ran the right shoulder strap through the area where the left seat belt buckle in the back us located. The left waist strap is bolted to the bar on the lower drivers side (if you put your hand on the wall closes to the driver's door and go all the way down to the base of the car there is a bolt there, and then the right waist strap went behind the seat and on the left bolt that holds the drivers seat sliding track to the base of the car. (It sounds more complicated than it is.)

The nice thing about this setup is that you can replace the stock covers on the trunk, put back the rear seat and use some of the stock bolts (because the sparco ones are larger than the holes (we had to drimmel the washers off of the bolts), and you can still use the rear seat belts and buckles, fold down the back seat and adjust your seats in the front.

I have to give prop to Darren to helped me through the entire process. lol

I'll be sure to put up some pics soon as I can (not sure when that will be, but soon)

How are they to drive in?

My dad has four-point Simpson harnesses in his Cobra replica and when you're strapped in, you're strapped in. If the dashboard were any further away it'd be tough to play with the heater controls or light switches. I can't imagine on the Tib it'd be convenient to fiddle with the radio or other controls unless you had 32-inch long fingers.

im sure that they wont be 1000000% tightened down while driving in everyday conditions...

if so then yea thats silly...

but w/e. it'll keep from ppl being distracted and will keep their eyes glued to the road.

I mean what does he do bend over to mess with the knobs? LOL j/k j/k

Well I sit closer up to the wheel because before I had the harnesses I had to brace myself with my leg when I would make some sharp turns to be doing some tricks in a empty parking lot. The one thing that I'm going to have to learn to do is back up without being able to fully look over my shoulder, but other than that they drive better than the stock seat belts, you can feel which way the car wants to go alot more because you're not going that way and you can compenstate alot easier.

I'll try and find my digtial camera as soon as I can or borrow a friends, so I can show you how we bolted them up, it's a pretty sweet setup, my explaination above is kinda vague I know, so I'll do the best I can to find my camera. That or someone can just take a picture of the stock back of the car and I can just circle where we bolted them, but I want to show this **** off :) lol

Sir yes sir! lol

Yeah, it took us about two hours to do in the install since we had to do some drimmeling and figure out where to bolt them, but I'll find a camera and show you before the 20th lol :)

No I don't but what I can do is see if I can borrow a camera tommorow and take some. If I can't I'm hosting a NW Tiburon meet on Sunday and I'll make sure that I get some pics taken for you. I think in a earlier post I explained where we bolted them, but I understand, like me I need to see a picture or actually be doing it to completely understand sometimes

That doesn't look like a very safe setup at all the way you have the shoulder belts mounted.

Think about if you get in a wreck, the belts are going to pull you in completely different directions. For the shoulder belts in my car, I'm using both of the lower seatbelt mounts of the rear seat and it's perfect. And safe.

Also, you technically shouldn't use any bolts for the lap belts other than the stock seatbelt mounts. They are much thicker than the bolts that hold the seat down and are mounted to reinforced locations to deal with the stresses that seatbelts create.

hey solo if that way doesnt work for you, you could try doing what i did. for the drivers side. i mounted the left side of the lap belt to where that stock seat belt rail went. then on the right side i drilled through the floor on that center hump deal directly across fron where the left bolted up. if you cant get a mental picture fron this ill show you tomorrow when you get to toledo.
