HID kits come with the light, wire harness, and ballast boxes. the bulbs that you find at autozone and stores of the like arents true HID's, just "zenon" bulbs or whatever they wanna be called. real HID's come in the kits. check out the sponsors here on the forums, there are quite a few that sell a lot of quality HID kits, and installation is easy. also, dont forget to get a relay for the HID's if you do decide to buy them.

yes! i have 12000K for lows and 8000K in the fogs. i absolutely love the blue/white contrast of them!

 

I have 5k lows and 5k fogs, but i think they sent me 4.5k fogs.

 

Do you guys know if the low beams and the fog are both H7? and i dont get the 35Watt and 55Watt....what is the difference?

 

WAT. no, H7 is the bulb for the headlights. the fog light bulbs are 9006. As for the 35w-55w thing, i think your looking at just the brighter halogen bulbs that are sold at autozone and such, like zenons

 

regular halogen bulbs consume 55 watts of power, thats why HID kits include the ballasts, the ballasts take that 55 watts and converts it to 35 watts for the HID bulbs

 

if you get 55 watt hids they are much much brighter than the 35w hids
I have 8k low and 6k fogs from ddm tuning
they are dirt cheap with lifetime warranty so can't go too wrong.

I ordered a set of halogen "hid" for my old 01 tib and the bulb actually bulged. It looked like it was going to burst
never will i order ebay bulbs again. i should take a pic and show you guys. it is friggin scary. i've never seen a bulb do something like that

 

I got my HIDs from ebay, I absolutely love them, though, You can't beat teh lifetime warranty you speak of

The tinted bulbs are Halogen not zenon (xenon are hid). 35w are plenty bright and really I have never seen the need for the brighter 55w ones. As far as color temp I'm switching to 4300k since police locally are really frowning on conversion kits (I know at least 2 people that have been ticketed in this last week and I believe I was stopped because of my headlights recently). After converting you'll want to readjust the angle of the beam as the light output is different with HID bulbs.They are NOT LEGAL, so use at your own risk.

 

If cops are stoping people then why would you switch to a brighter bulb? Sure it would be less blue but it would look like you have your high beams on all the time

 

Ya I've never been bothered by police, I have 8000K

 

I have had just about every color temp and I have only been stopped for it once (for 6000k), and that's one too many times.


I have had 4300k, 5000k, 6000k, 10000k, & 12000k....

 

thats weird, you wouldn't think they'd bother you since a lot of stock cars run 6000K

 

I have 12000k and they are purple/pink not blue.

 

Yeah but it depends on the company. Some company's 12k will come out a very dark "laser blue". It looks amazing from outside but it suc*s balls from the drivers seat.
