Re: DIY: Home Depot Lip Kit

How much is that stuff?
I need about 6 feet for the edges of my garage door and about 2 feet for my headlights (where I siliconed it from removing the clear corners)?
It's cheap. I got out of Home Depot for under $20. Bought the double sided tape, zip ties, and garage door bottom. I think it was like $10 for a 9 foot section.
Dude -
This is a nice, clean looking job. Very well put together DIY
And your lights... man, what's to say?
They look kick azz!! What AE are you using?
+1 for you !!
Freez
Thanks! I have the SFR LED Angel Eyes.
I'll let you know what i decide here in a couple weeks.
I don't think it will curve around the front of this Razi kit too well, though.
Actually, this stuff is very flexible. I bet you could get it around some sharp corners with no problem...
i think they're both are the same stuff.. its kinda foam?? idk..
Yeah. It's like a rubber and foam mix. It's weird. btw, car came out great!
Speedy, did you make those mesh grills yourself? How did you do the upper one?
Yes, I did. But, I'd hate to admit how being as it will only label my car more "ricey" because I know how to improvise.

It's gutter guard from Home Depot. I got 5 sheets each about 2 feet long and 8" wide for $6. It's the same exact design as the $30 APC mesh at Advance auto, but it's not chrome, but more of a brushed look. Less ricey imo...

Re: DIY: Home Depot Lip Kit

I wouldn't put this on my car at all, but +1 for trying something different, forget all the nay-sayers as long as you like it who cares!

Re: DIY: Home Depot Lip Kit

i was gonna say your grill looks good but now that you told me it was from home depot i think its ******. hah just kidding i love the whole front end its very clean nice job.

Re: DIY: Home Depot Lip Kit

I like it but I am unsure if I would put it on my car due to the fact I feel like if you have a front lip side skirts are a must. Now if someone ventured as to try it with sideskirts then maybe

Re: DIY: Home Depot Lip Kit

yea jdella681 i agree. it will blend with the rims and gas cap and headlights as well.

i think it looks good on silver tibs, black tibs, blue as well.

Re: DIY: Home Depot Lip Kit

Has anyone tried the extruded vinyl material instead of the foam? It is MD Building Products Item 03004. www.mdteam.com/products.php?category=238
They also make the rubber foam strip, Item 03723, which is what most of you appear to be using. www.mdteam.com/products.php?category=237
The extruded vinyl looks the same but is smoother and blacker, and I bet it could be painted to match the car. I wonder if it would be more difficult to bend.

I saw that when I was picking up the stuff yesterday. One thing I noticed, is that the vinyl was a thinner material, and flexed easier, so that may flap in the wind some...

Actually, there are three kinds of people on NT: Those who can count and those who can't.

Hey, Chelito0 hope you don't mind me using your picture for reference.

How about something like this guys??

I know its a rough photoshop, but would this material be flexible enough to be cut to flow into the stock bumper protrusion?

I am always one for DIY projects and whatnot, although I don't think I'd be willing to do it unless it could get it to look like that
