How long will a tib last?

Not sure if this is the right category for this question and I know it's been asked before but never found the right answer for me. Anyways how long does a tiburon last? I've been looking into buying one around 100,000 miles. How long do you think that would last for? It would be a daily driver by the way. Thanks

I read in sport compact car once that if you buy a 3000 dollar car, plan on spending 3000 dollars to get it up to speed. If the car has been taken care of, it will last. I don't know much about the delta V6. I am more knowledgable about the Beta 2. I have seen a few V6 tiburons with over 100k and they smelled of oil and fumes. It's all about the car you pick. Take your time and find the right one

It's like the others said, all depends on how well you maintain it. Although minor things are bound to go wrong but as long as you take care of your engine, it will take care of you.

As long as you take care of any car it will last a long time. Take for example the guy that bought A Volvo P1800 brand new in 1966. he is still driving it today. It has almost 3,000,000 miles on it.

If you live in a climate that doesnt corrode a car, it will last as long as you repair/maintain it. However, the useful life to where you're on the good side of the balance of cost to operate/repair the car is another story.

I would put the useful life of a Tiburon at around 150,000ish miles before you're repairing it more than you're driving it.

Mercedes, Volvo, BMW and the like are another story, they are built to last hundreds of thousands of miles with a competent owner who values and maintains the car.

i'm the second owner of the my 03 auto gt. i bought with 76k miles on it.. didn't know anything about the 60k mark timing belt/water pump change until i got on the site and changed it at 120k miles with no problems. i'm assuming the previous owner changed it at 60k. i'm now at a 150k miles with no mechanical problems other than the bcm problem. keep up with the recommended maintenance and it'll last

I am the owner of a 2003 Gt V6 i got the car at about 86000 and so far i have only changed the tps and the rear struts, the car is at about 105000 and is running great. previously i owned a 1999 tiburon. it had about 190000 miles on it. it was running great i never had a single issue with it. owned it for a couple of years and it never saw the repair shop. i might have had good luck with the tiburons that i have bought but i have good faith in their durability. and like everyone else has said. if you take good care of it, it will take care of you.

it all depends on how it is and has been taken care of, along with the climate conditions where you're located. Speedy's 03 tib on here is near 170k miles

I sold my Tib when it had 127k on it. Figured it only had another 20k before I had to start spending some serious cash on it.

Mine's at 164k, and the only engine or transmission repair I've had done in 10 years is the valve cover gaskets at 90k miles. The alternator, radiator, windshield washer pump, a/c compressor, window motor, and lock actuator are probably the biggest issues I've had with this car. The mostly original paint is still very very shiny and the interior is in great shape- no leather tears. Take care of it and it will return the favor.

My tibby is 7 yead old and I just turned 80k miles and is running strong as ever. As mentioned before, timely maintenance and high quality parts are key. Oil is also a critical factor. Im running Mobil 1 in the engine and redline oil in the tranny, both syntetic.

As mnetioned by Will there is a point when repairs cost and down time will make the tibby less suitable for daily driver duties, however, you can kee it as 2nd or 3rd car and continue to have fun

I got an ‘07 given to me this year, because my friend’s daughter said it wouldn’t start and they parked an abandoned it. It needed an alternator and a battery and I started driving it. So far in the last four months, I’ve put all new shocks on it, an O2 sensor, a mass airflow sensor, and we’re about to do the timing belt and water pump and all new gaskets on the engine. It has excellent compression all across the board even though the previous owner never put oil in it…. There was no oil on the dipstick when I got it, and there was a piece of paper from Jiffy Lube that had that written on it also “no oil on dipstick” on the notes on two different occasions. This thing is amazing and I’m gonna keep it forever.
