anyone know where to purchase good aluminum hub centric rings? $40 seems like a lot from 5zigen's store!

also, which is better plastic or aluminum?

call your wheel manufacturer or call somewhere like tire rack. plastic or metal will be fine, they arnt actually under any pressure, all they are there for is to make sure the wheel is centered around the hub, once bolted on, it wont make a difference.

I have run both and never really noticed a difference, although obviously aluminum is stronger. I got mine from wheeldude.com and they were plastic, can't remember the price though as I bought wheels and centercaps at the same time.

thanks guys! i knew some people would know what i was talking about...i did a google search and the general consensus was 50/50 the only complaint i heard about plastic was that they might break over time and that the aluminum could rust but i knew structurally they do the same thing i just didn't know if one would last longer than the other...i called discounttire here in town and they have a set of 4 of the plastic ones for $12 and on 5zigens site the set of 4 aluminum ones are $40!!! i think i'll just stick with the plastic ones...lol

I just got some polycarbonate ones on Ebay for my winter "beater" rims. like these-- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HUB-...tem20b6c9f214QQitemZ140505641492QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
But yeah, as stated you need to know inner and outer diameters. Our inner is 67.1mm, these are listed at 67.2 and fit just fine. Only slight problem I had was these are 72.62 outer, and my rims are 72.5, but it was close enough I could push them in the wheels. I had read the aluminum ones can corrode, not sure how likely that is though

The inner diameter of the ring is what matches up to our hub, 67.1mm, but you have to find the inside bore diameter of your HP wheels to know the outside diameter of the rings you have to buy. Check your local rim shop and they'll know or contact HP Racing and ask them directly.

I thought I came across somewhere on the web that said the diameter of the bore on those HP Racing wheels was 72.56mm but you definitely want to verify that.

Here's a picture of what a hub ring does. http://www.justforwheels.com/hub-centric-rings.jsp
