yeah, the tib got injured

what pretty much happened was that i learned that tiburons, even at 10 mph, can slide out and SLAM into a curb, knocking the passenger side wheel out of alignment and pushing it into the wheel well where it wont spin.

ill have pictures of it later because im at work right now, but lets just say that im extremely pissed off that this happened. like, you would not even believe.

i got a $500 deductable with my insurance company, although i know the cost of the work is going to be WAY more than that. something about the trans axle being either bent or broken. im just hoping that theres no actual body damage done to it.

dudes and dudettes, i am not a happy person right about now :3_plzdie:

ouch that same exact thign happened to me last winter in my old car. was going around a turn at like 11 MPH and slid right into the curb, and there were roots there so the curb was raised up. popped the tire, bent my axle and cost around $650 to get fixed. pain in the ***

o wow what a bust.... i agree with tibbyT though good thing your alright and not hurt, tib will be fine with some new parts 8D

225 tire size..... answered your question with 3 letters, my stang had 255's on it and thats was just enough to get enough traction

Like said above, good thing you weren't hurt. I hope everything works out for you with the repairs.

Like Chris, I personally haven't had any problems in the snow and this is my 3rd winter with the Tib.

i hate snow also. my tires are screwed.. i need to get a new set after this winter. I am definitely moving out of the North East when i get out of college. I don't understand how people enjoy winter...

Only on Xmas is it good.. that's it.

thank you to everyone. i talked to the tow guy, and he said its probably gonna cost more than my $500 deductable to get it fixed. theyre going to order all the stock parts from hyundai, and the guy mentioned that theyre going to replace the rim that was thrashed if they can find it (which they still should be able to). from what he saw, it looks like the axle rod and the strut tower has been damaged (bent backwards). but its nothing that cant be fixed, you know?

i def. appreciate all the good words though!

ill take some snow down here in VA!!! we don't ever get any and i really wish we did

man that sucks for your tib. If you think snow sucks try living here where its -50 degrees celcius and theres mountains of snow lol

I know your pain...I bet the passenger control arm this spring and yesterday broke my hub and knuckle on the driver rear both from barely sliding into the curb (the rear wheel hit a bit harder than the front). About $100 for new control arm for front and $75 for rear hub and knuckle from junkyard.

Yeah im tired of this snow.. We've had a blizzard warning past week... and its -15 degrees outside right now. AND IM IN INDIANA! its pretty ****** Got stuck in my friends driveway.. couldnt see where it was and my back slid out and went in the yard.... 10 inches of snow = hard to get out of. but with a jeep and 4 hours of digging.. finally got it lol

I slid out last week too and hit an island. I think I jacked up my alignment. it sucks!

well, it got towed yesterday...

even though that DOES look pretty cool, it was still sad to see it all jacked up like that.

heres the driver side wheel, what it SHOULD look like:

and heres the damage:

from what the tow guy said, it looks like a bent strut tower, shot bearings, and a broke axle rod. sad, sad day
