We are going to meet at my house in New Lenox, IL on April 3. This meet will be a time to get to know each other and see each other's cars, regardless of how modded your car is. Stock Tibs are welcome! Post if you plan to attend, your name, and how many you will be bringing (both people and cars). Also, let me know if you are 21 or not, as we may go out later that night and i would hate to leave anyone out.
Also, we will be doing mods on this day. I have a two car garage and a large driveway. The driveway is not paved however, so any work where the car must be lifted will have to be done in the garage. I have standard tools and a jack, however, if you can bring your own tool set I would appreciate it so we have enough, or if you need specialty tools, you will need to bring your own.
Some people already know what they need done to their car on this day, so everyone post what mods they need done, and then others can answer if they can do that mod. I will have Nology hot wires and plugs to install, and if I don't find some extra time before that, a passenger side cup holder as well.
Let the posting begin!

count ghettolwyr and ghettomom in. i don't think we will have any mods to do for ourselves (maybe clearcorners), but we will be happy to help install neons (bring your own neons, LOL). Ghettomom prefers streetglow gold series, but Ghettolwyr prefers plasmaglow 7 color change neons. Either way, we can help w/ the install on both. Ghettolwyr also knows how to install injen cai. ghettomom knows how to do all the vent rings, fuel cap, and chrome door handles. Ghettolwyr can install reverse indiglo guages. Finally, headunits are a breeze if you can get best buy, or circuit city to give you the proper kit (the proper harness (smart harness) always comes from circiut city b/c best buy doesn't sell them).

on a different note: ghettomom is very excited about watching the cup holder install.

I can bake corners with the best of em. Just have to see how they do on this oven, never used it for that before. Always used the oven at my old place.
Keith, how are the gauges? I am looking at picking a set up soon.

well, i got my plasmaglows from a website called: http://www.vanhorn1.com
i got 7 color change plasmaglow neons plus a wheel well kit for $360 shipped and a remote control for all of it for $120 shipped (i would wait on the wheel well kit tho b/c you may not like the way they look [they actually look cool B/C you CAN see the tube IMHO]). as far as streetglow neons, the cheapest i've seen them at a shop in the city is $200, but i know they're cheaper on ebay. i think they're also pretty cheap from www.speedpeople.com ($169). however, i have never ordered them from speedpeople.com. you might want to ask someone else on nt.com LOL.

also.. where should i get the gauges?? i will also like to change my guages during the Mod day..
i bought my gauges from www.procarparts.com
however, everyone on nt.com seem to think these suck (break all the time) and they all suggest www.speedhut.com

honestly, my opinion is that all gauge replacements suck and will burn out quickly...IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME...but at least you will be able to read the spedo b/c the gauges are white (i couldn't read mine during the day b/c the oem gauges are black)

what's the difference between plasmaglows and streetglow?

i just want lights that will turn on under my car when i want it on.. cuz Illinois has a strict law on all aftermarket products.. so nothing too fancy.. as long as they look cool and are reliable..

There's a group buy for gauges right now. Check it out.
Also, I will post directions when the date draws nearer. if anyone wnats directions now, PM me and I'll send you my address.
Maybe the entertainment for the day will be me trying to put in the cupholder and breaking everything in sight.

Nice run bro!
Someone needed to get some meets together, and this seemed like the only way people were willing to drive down. Plus, I'm too lazy to do my hotwires myself, so it's free labor, lol. How's things? Hit me up on email. We'll definately get together when you come back. Let me know the date.

i also see that in www.vanhorn1.com and you go to the side and click street glow.. and scroll down.. they have streetglow for underboy kits... and they are only $125 and $150 dollars... do these work on tibs and they are pretty much the same thing right??
ok there is a major difference between plasmaglow and streetglow: plasmaglow lights are LEDs (a bunch of little lights) which have the ability to change colors and utilize different patterns (chase, pulse, etc.). the streetglow gold kit (the best streetglow kit - only one i would buy) is only a single color, but they aren't LEDs, they are neon tubes. people debate over which they like better and it boils down to a matter of personal preference. i think the plasmaglows are better b/c they can change colors and run in all kinds of neat patterns and i always seem to have problems w/ the streetglow ones only working when they want to. however, ghettomom (my mother) likes the streetglow ones better. in her opinion they provide a more complete glow effect and are less tacky than the plasmaglows and she never has any trouble w/ them. w/ the plasmaglows you can aim them so that almost the entire underside of your car lights up or so that there are like painted lines on the ground (can change the aiming at any time). the problem w/ the painted lines is that the way the plasmaglow kit changes colors is by combining primary colors Red+blue=purple and you can see the individual dots on the ground if you have the lights aimed straight down. also, the plasmaglow control box is monstrous in size and i really can't decide of a nice place to mount it, that is why i just bought the remote system and shoved it under the dash :)

hey you wanna see the difference? i have class downtown until 8:30. my car is parked across the street from the sears tower. if you want, you can meet me at 8:30 across the street from the sears' tower and see the plasmaglows...then, if you don't mind a 5 minute drive, you can stop by my crib and see ghettomom's purple streetglows. that should help you make up your mind b/4 the mod day.

so you are able to control when you want it on and off from inside the car for the street glow right.. as you know since you live here.. Illinois has one of the strictest law in the U.S when it comes to Aftermarket Products.. i really want the lights to be on for show not while im driving because i will be ticketed for and they will eventually make me take it off.. so as long as streetglow allow me to control on/off.. i will buy it because i don'thave that much money and it's a lot cheaper...

Mona... come on down then. Personally, I would love to see your car in person. I've seen pics for about the past 9 months, and it's beautiful... keeps getting better.

I am going to try and make it. I have to check my work schedule and see if I am off or can switch. I will keep you posted. The only mod that I may be able to do is the clear corners. although I do have some neons that could go in, and a screen for my dvd system. But the screen for my dvd will more than likely be done by then along with my stereo stuff.
