what do I need to do???? I did the initail setup from all that I can tell... the throttle position sensor works fine, it reads smooth from 0 to 100 percent. I cant really see if the others work because the car wont start. It stuttered for a second one time but then it just cranks and wont do anything.. someone please help me, I have to drive to school tomorrow.

turn the acc, on and look at the voltage for all sensors (sensor check) and tap the gas, all the sensors should light up, if not then when you cut the wire to the AFL you didnt make a good connection on either the in or the out, check your ground on your car, battery, and the likes, and also make sure the ECU plugs are all installed correctly and then let me know whats up. my car started right up after SAFC2 install, did you solder or vampire tap it???

I am sorry and I dont mean to mess up your thread but anytime I see a problem and your name that posted it I feel so bad for you. (Thats why I won;t work on my own car) I think we have the same luck.

I did a little of both... the two wires for the maf are vampire tapped in. I soldered what I could get to and then vampire tapped the hard ones. I dont think the blue/white wires were a problem though. they seemed really secure in there. what about the initial setup? does that have anything to do with it you think? I didnt have any instructions on what to do...

OK, go to the type of car or whatever where you can select (cylider) screen, where you can select the cylinder of the cars and the arrow on the screen with the cyl select part needs to be facing the 1 o'clock position and let me know if that was done.

Double check the MAF wires, i did mine (vampire originally) and i never made the connection through the plastic.

Check and recheck your wiring, a assure you its the problem, i took me twice before i solderd it, and it was the problem the taps never went through the plastic, its beeter to shave off a section (razor blade) to expose the wiring then tap it, if tapping is what your gonna do.

EDIT: Im here for you till you get it done bro. :3_winkthu

This is basic, but you did cut the MAF signal wire right? You can't just tap it.

#11 ·
yea you have to cut it between the 2 taps on it, not just tap it twice and leave it.
That could be an issue.
And someone pick this up as ima go to bed soon.

I cut the wire and then tapped the two with the splices. I did the sensor check and the first two inputs seem neglible. the first one is 0v and the second one is .025 volts. I guess I should just solder the connection then. only problem is I dont want to go through all that again lol. thanks shrkbyte for the help :) what do you think about the sensor check?

#13 ·
sensor check is fine, did you remove the ground from your battery BEFROE install???
basic but i need to know.
Chase
I hope you didnt as you could have fried your BCM or ECU.

Sensor should read:
input 1: .01
input 2: .005
thottl: .25
Knock i dont have hooked up.
Hope this helps
This is WITH the Acc on (key all the way up but not on)
If you dont have a reading on one of those then your missing a connection.

now that youve cut the MAF wire, youde have to take wire to reconnect that cut, or else the car wont start.
if you just remove it and leave it the MAF as is it will no longer have a signal and the car wont run.
ALL SEONSORS should HAVE A VOLTAGE reading (and it should fluctuate) exept for input 1 (that did not fluctuate for me when i checked.

not sure of the wire, but i THINK its the INPUT side of the MAF, the side you tapped closest to the ECU side, the farther on (away from the cut you made, going AWAY from the ECU i think is input 2) you have a bad connection still.
check the maf wires AGAIN (remove the ground every time before you do it) and yes your correct, not the ACC but all the way up but no engine on.

Keep um coming fast.
So i can help you fix this :3_pimatyo
EDIT: i had to edit the hell out of this post, sorry. just running low on the coke, very tired.

yeah voltages should be what's above be sure to select on sensor type HOTWIRE it will be on theensor type screen after sensor type i can't remember what step this is 01 01 and on sens. cal 1 in 1 out and 6 cyl throttle in the 1 o'clock position

#24 ·
^^^^^ make sure that setup is correct as well, just what he said.
HotWire setup.

i promise you took me a while to get the maf sensor wired up, when you get it though ALL sensors will fluctuate and move in voltage (increase and decrease, but all will have voltage)

Check check and triple check, im going to bed no more good threads, i hope you get it done, but wont have time to look in the morning as i have to work early but will check to make sure everything went well.
TIME TO BURN THE MIDNIGHT OIL= FOR THE LOVE OF MODDING LOOK WHAT WE DO!!!!

screw the midnight oil. Im too tired to continue. I'll tackle this tomorrow. thanks chase for your help, I'll check back after class when I solder everything correctly. I agree that I have the worst luck with mods. but hey, it always works out in the end so I guess thats going to be my driving force for now. I'm worried about going forced induction here in the next few months lol, who knows what kind of problems will go wrong then
