Yeah so I thought i would just share that I just washed my car at 8:00 tonight and finished at 9:30 and it looks very nice, funny thing is, as I was finishing drying my car it started to rain! I quickly ran inside to get my keys and put it in the garage before it could get totally wet and than I dryed it in the garage. NO worries!! Haha well that was my fun night :)! anyone have any more fun stories?

My Alpine White baby is ALWAYS in need of a wash...but especially now. I got her back from the body shop yesterday in the pouring rain, drove her around today, but will hopefully give her a nice bath tomorrow after getting that "TIBURON" badge put back on (seriously, how long does it take a shop to get THAT in?).

Hopefully everything will be set for my date on saturday :3_shiny: :3_shiny: :3_shiny:

I have the blade. it works well - just make sure its clean, same with everything else when cleaning

I used to use a chamois but switched to the flexible blade-type drying device; the blade works so much better and faster, easier to keep clean too.

Oh, I almost had a bird fly in my car on the way home from work. Passed right in front of the windshield. Would have toally sucked if it came inside, after all, my windows were open.

I don't think I will ever wash my car at night ever again! It look like 10 towels to dry it because there's no sun light to help.
sun to help ? what color is ur car... id only wash in shade or at night.. that ****ng sun does no help to my black tib :(

well, the weather has been pretty poor in the UK recently...but yesterday it was glorious. I intending on only giving my car a quick clean, but after an hour sponge down, rince, chamois leather dry, Auto Glymn resin polish, Auto Glymn hi gloss, wheels cleaned, silicone detailing on plastics and rubbers, vaccum throughout, engine clean, engine plastics details, all levels topped up (including coolant, oil, water, etc), it took 6 hours!

It looks so shiny and new again! hehe...

But that was not all...when the g/f arrived home from work in her filthy dirty VW Beetle (which is also black) I had to do the whole same thing on her car....which took a futher 4 hours....DOH!

lmao....but its worth it!

:D

Man i have not washed my car in like 3 weeks!!!!! I have never gone this long but i went on vacation and when i came back i have been so swomped at work. I plan on washing her tonight. Yeah man I love the Cali blade thing it makes things so much easier. I use the MR. Clean auto dry but it does not work in the direct sunlight and here it gets dark at like 8:30 I am not waiting till then so I use the blade thing. I catn wait to see her shine again!!!

hahaha, towels, absorbers.....man that takes me back to the 90's LOL

Pick yourself up one of the Mr. Clean auto-dry systems....NO TOWELS needed, no drying needed....the final rinse filters the water through a filter that distils it or some crap....anyways, the car dries on its own with no spots.....it truly works...i've been using it for a long time.

The complete auto dry system is like 35 bucks USD at your local walmart/auto zone.

You need to change the mr. clean auto dry filter every 3-4 washes....it works PERFECTLY in direct sunlight...actualyl it works better that way i find...If you dont change the filter with a new one, it stops the water form its distilling process or whatever the hell it is....trust me.

:3_withstu :3_ban: WEll bud if you read the directions it says not to wash your car and use the Auto Dry System in Direct Sunlight , plus if you have a Black car like I do the sun will make it leave spots. SO I cant use it in the sunlight. I still use the auto dry system but then i use my cali blade thing to get all the remaining water off. It works better and you dont have to wait at at for it to dry before you do wax or detailer!!!

I dont recall me saying thats what the directions said....did i rookie?

I said, I find it works PERFECTLY in the sunlight. I have a carbon blue tib...In the sunlight it dries the distilled water quicker, without spots. You don't always need to listen to what directions tell you.

how much do those filters cost?? i just dont see the need to buy one of those mr clean thingys....i dont mind hand washing and drying my car....to me, doing it yourself is taking more pride....i wash my car a lot, maybe thats why my opinion is the way it is....so to have to buy filters every 3-4 washes for me would be ridiculous....id be goin thru filters like crazy....or maybe its my luck...they could call for a nice sunny day, 0% chance of rain....but once i wash my car, it starts raining lol

the way i see it, the less physical touching you do the better the paint job....has nothing to do with more pride. I mean washing and drying with something physical has always been the traditional way....but i've had cases in the past while drying that something like a twig or something real small was on the towel/absorber and caused some small scratches.

Its all preference though....I use to run a small detailing business for locals in my neighborhood, and once I went with the auto dry my overall finsihed product was much better..

Filters are not much, 5-6 bucks for a 2 pack, 3-5 washes per filter. Its got all the wash options in it also, stream mode and stuff...check it out...you wont regret it.

well, i guess it would be worth checking it out...afterall, the commercial does make it tempting...but thats all in advertising.....and those filters do seem to be inexpensive, and you do make a good point on the paint....but wouldnt you make sure the towel was debris free before you dry it?? and as far as pride, i know i can sit there and say "damn, i did a kick ass job washing this car" versus "dude, i cant take any credit for this, a damn machine did it" LMAO, its friday, im in rare form
