Well I am considering a switch here. I am considering getting rid of the Tib for.....another Tib! Well the guy who sold me my car called me today and asked me to come take a look at a trade in he just got. It's an '03 5 speed GT V6, Carbon Blue. Only has 12,000 miles on it. He is asking $15,500, but the price is negotiable. Anyways, I have been looking for a new car for a while since my auto I4 is not what I am looking for anymore (not that I wanted an auto to begin with). Trade in on my car is going to be ugly, somewhere in the neighborhood of $11,000, which totally sucks, but the value isn't going to go up. I am looking for some input here, yes everyone is going to say get the GT, but honest opinions here... I have considered getting the new Mazda 3s, an '04 GT V6 5 speed or I4 5 speed, or possibly waiting until next year and MAYBE springing for a 350Z. Comments?

you will love the carbon blue. There arent alot of that color I dont believe. They only made that color for 2003. My dealer got a total of 2 in that color, I bought one, and the other one is still sitting on the lot.

I would see what kind of trade in they are willing to give you and how negotiable the price is on the 5 speed. If it works out to around a 2 grand difference I would do it if you want the manual. How many miles on your trade in?

Yep, nothing wrong with a Tib to Tib switch.
I agree because I just traded in my I4 for a GT V6. I had an 03 4cyl 5sp, with 33,500 miles leather, sunroof. They offered me $10k. I still owed $13,500. But there was a rebate and I only had to put $1500 down to break even....Then I got the GT for $17,400 :3_coool: My payments are just about the same :3_worship

You WILL NOT be disappointed if you make the switch. Being able to hit the gas and feel power in any gear is awesome

I have been thinking all of thise myself for the past few months. They told me they would be able to give me anywhere from $10,500-$13,000, but the $13,000 would be on a car never driven. Mine has 20,000 miles on it, so I am HOPING for $11,000, that way I would be able to keep my payments right around where they are now. I am going to look at the car again at 3:30, as soon as I get off work. Hopefully they wanna play Let's Make a Deal because I want this car, and I want it NOW!

awesome! good luck!

if i had my way, i'd trade in for a GTV6 5-speed. i got auto right now, by no choice of my own. trouble would be FINDING one in moonlit blue, cause after havin this color i refuse to have any other. want a rare color? go for moonlit blue. its rarest one of production this year, and i had to go out of state to even FIND one.

Well I am a little wary of the car now. First thing I notice is the car is not a 5 speed, it's a 6 speed, no biggie here. However I noticed something odd with the tires...wait are those General tires I see...hmmm. So i ask to see the odometer and sure enough it says 12,000 and some change. So I ask why there are new tires...no reply. I figure someone was a little burnout happy bastard and smoked the Pilot Sports. Then I notice the nice curb rash on the right side rims, pretty large to. No major scratches, some light ones, but the car was kinda dirty since it rains here everyday. Also I see a JVC deck, the ones they sell in the dealership here. However it looks like a blind installer did the job. The mounting plate is nicked and crooked and it just looks very unprofessional. Anyways I took it for a ride for almost an hour and the salesman (the guy who sold me my car now) is ranting on about how good a deal this is...hmmm. Well we get back and he says $15,500 is the LOWEST he can go, so I tell him I am leaving. The manager of the lot, who is good friends with the head mechanic(my good friend), tells me to come see him personally on Monday morning. Well my salesman was PISSED, but the manager starts telling me some details about this car and he tells me the price is VERY negotiable, and he may even offer me more for my trade just to get this car off his hands. Apparently this car was owned by a friend of his who let his son learn how to drive on it :/ The kid was hard on the car, but for the most part I noticed no ill effects. Clutch appears in good shape, no jerking from the tranny. Car drives straight, but I did notice a slight knocking sound from the left front when making sharp curves, could be an easy fix or could be a nightmare. Well I won't know more til monday, sorry for the novel here.

But Type S uses PREMIUM gas :p I'd much prefer premium if I ever wanted RSX...

If he wants it off the lot that bad, he should give a really good deal. Seems like the biggest potential problem would be the clutch. I would be willing to take that car for $13500. I couldn't go any higher, even though it would still be reasonable, just knowing the history of the vehicle. Good luck.

I agree 13,500. Since the head tech is a friend make him check your suspension and every thing related upfront were you heard the noise. RIGHT THEN AND THERE. Then if its OK or they fix it tell them 13,500 and you got a deal.

1) you will likely want new wheels anyway
2) center console trim no big deal
3) nicks are to be expected w/ Hyundai paint
4) if it had a good clutch in the first place, it can take some abuse.

Step up, carbon blue is beautiful and the aftermarket loves the V6.
