lol..before I bought my tib I test drove one for the hell of it. It was freaking quick. It was fun too..i mean, it was FUN. The gearbox was real fun.

Seen one going at the track last year. Bone stock, first time there and he was running mid/high 14's if I remember correctly.

 

Then go used 07-08 WRX..easy choice. The WRX is insanely quick and its well priced, good platform and very fun to drive. Just..make sure you buy the newer ones.

 

07 and 08 are completely different cars. They also have the highest rate of engine failures, so that was awesome advice.

i kinda like the speed 3's but can't get over the fact that they look kinda like a minivan

 

Then look at it this way, it rapes a stock Tiburon in a straightaway, and it has a better suspension setup than a WRX. That's one mean little minivan.

 

Yeh it doesnt look like a mini van in person actually nice only issue is severe torque steer i hear...

 

I like them when they have a lip kit and slammed they look sick and they also perform well I have driven one also quick handling is good also but still has lots of room for improvement plus you can get a bigger wastegate upgrade exhaust and turbo and you will be in 250whp range in no time

 

Car and driver compared the 07 wrx to 07 mazdaspeed 3 and the only thing the wrx had over it was awd and a quicker 0-60 after they hit 100 the speed just walked it...

Well higher insurance is a problem for me haha

 

FWD < AWD > High Insurance < Low Insurance

 

M3's don't have higher... you can also get a early to mid 2000s Mazdaspeed6 some are awd... SO sick...

i use to work at a mazda dealership the speed3 is an awesome car 6spd turbo with a bose system stock they are very very fast but you might wanna check out the speed6 same motor and tranny but instead of FWD its AWD very fun to drive

 

I test drove one and I honestly hated it. The clutch felt sloppy, the turbo had pretty bad lag, and the price was awfully high. I test drove one before I bought my tib as well as the mazda speed 6 and miata.

 

The new one? Or the old one? Because I drove the new one and I freaking loved it. They tried to fix the lag on the newer ones and did..a semi decent job. Check it out.

 

I drove both 07' models.

 

Id get an older BMW M5 you can find them for cheap now days

but yes if your just set on the Mazda speed 3 i say go for it man

Well I'm sure with some mods I can fix the lag issue and I haven't read a review that mentioned that as and issue just the torque steer and the six speed being notchy to shift.

 

Its to old looking for something 07 and newer...

 

Don't get the speed3 if you plan on modding it.
