Well, after much planning and arranging, a killer meet was ready to be born....
....but this photo should summarize our frustrations:

33.some guy who bought a Tib on Thursday
Two Elantras made it too, only1db (Derek) and SilentWolf.
These two Tibs showed up later supposedly, but after the dealership portion of the meet was over.
34. Sofakingrich (Elliot)
35. tuscanigrl (Amber)
So, sadly enough, with a planned turnout of 55+, which would have made it the largest known Tib meet in history, instead, TWENTY Tibs bailed and didn't come out. That made me a saaaaaaad panda.
On Location at Coastal Hyundai
Naturally, we were all late ... but no one seemed to mind, so it's all good! Upon arrival, the dealership already had a DJ playing and soonafter, the tasty hot pizza arrived. Mmm!
Everyone got their Tibs parked, and it started out just like our standard meet! Old friends catching up, new friends being made, Herb's car getting drooled on, etc. The Coastal Hyundai folks came out and seemed to be pretty shocked -- I don't think they ever dreamed some of these things could be done!
But then....
The Weather
....the rain came! Doing the typical Florida thing, a small rain cloud rolled through and dumped some rain on us. It cleared up in about ten minutes or less .... and we set to work drying off the cars. (Unfortunately, I hadn't taken ANY pictures at this point, since I was running around with nametags and waivers and general organizational things....doh!) No sooner had we finished drying the cars, but here comes the rain again! Much harder this time, and much longer as well. It lightened up eventually, so once again, we started hanging out by the cars again. The dealership judges came around to judge for the trophies, the trophies were awarded (see Awards section) ... and soon enough ... here comes the rain again!
All taking shelter under the building's overhang, it was time for some serious discussion about the rest of the day's plans. We were all getting frustrated with the weather, since standing around starting at rained-on cars from a distance isn't much fun. Also, go-kart racing was going to be a problem with all this rain as well ... so we held a vote and it was unanimous that we would abandon the remainder of the meet, abandon Andretti, and head to Chili's to get some grub.
But, before that, as mentioned, there were the....
Awards
The dealership judged, and the awards went to...
Long Distance: Speedy (Mark)
Best Exterior: Stimpy2301 (Andy)
Best Engine: h9alyman (Jim)
Dealer's Choice: bagpiper (Herb)
Best in Show: tibby03 (Lou)
Congrats to all the winners! Now you've got a trophy to show off at future meets.
Chili's and the Soda-Sniffing
After thanking JB and Coastal Hyundai, those still left (since some had left already, and more were leaving instead of going to eat) headed down the road to Chili's. (Sorry about the confusion getting there, guys, I guess I jumped the gun.) Once there, good times were had by all, especially once we finally got the staff to add on one more table so six of our people didn't have to be excluded!
It seems the highlights of Chili's were the mojitos (for those who had em), and our brilliant waitress smelling our soda glasses trying to figure out whose was whose. lol!
(Definitely the low point was the manager trying to guilt us all into a fundraiser. "Well, since you guys all drive the same car, maybe you'd all like to donate some money for a good cause!" ....riiiiiiiiiiiight....I guess my question is, shouldn't the restaurant be the one donating? I mean, come on, it's not like it really costs them nine dollars to cook a hamburger. Anyway...)
Of course, as is customary in all plans that get screwed up, the weather outside was bright and sunny the whole time. So, once again, we decided to mix up the plans some more, and try Andretti after all. Of course, due to the change in schedule, not everyone could stay. But...before we went to Andretti...
"What Happened To Your Car?!"
...we took advantage of the nice weather in the parking lot and took some more pics! (Finally, dry cars to photograph.) There was some more car-looking-at and chatting ... Bryan wanted to see how Jim's lambo doors worked, so he opened one up. He left it open for a while, since it's just cool to look at.
After a few minutes, an older lady walked up to our group standing by Jim's Tib, and says, "What happened to your car?!" .... we all froze, and looked at her, thinking, "what? did someone's get hit? vandalized? scratched? oh no!"
Not getting an answer, she clarifies, "Or.....is it supposed to open like that??" We all get quite a good laugh, and also are relieved at the same time. Someone tells her yes, and we let her believe that all of ours open like that ... then we tell her not to scare us like that again!
Andretti, the Demon Car, and the Classics
Some headed on their way, and the rest of us decided to give Andretti a try. We told ourselves, if the weather didn't hold, there was always laser tag! Once we got there, however, we figured out that we no longer had enough people to get the group rate! I spoke with the manager to try and work it out, to no avail. I even tried recruiting random people coming in to join our group! That didn't work either. (They probably though I was trying to push some kind of scam.) After much confusion and uncertainty, we finally decided to buy the large packs of tickets and split the cost. Tickets in a large pack were better than individual tickets ... but of course, not as good as the group rate. (It was suggested we plan another time to come back to try again. I'm up for that too.)
So we hit the races, and first ran the euro-style F-1 Extreme. I got a sweet speedy car on that one! (Pedro, one more lap and I would've owned you!) We then ran two more races on the Super Speedway, where the #39 car was burning up the track! (The #38 car was pretty quick too.) Mark had some major battles going on with one of the double-carts too, but finally managed to get by.
The funniest bit of all was returning to the parking lot, and not only finding a Neon parked alongside all of us, which was pretty lame, but also finding antiques and classic cars parked around us! An old Bel-Air, an old Falcon, a Mustang, some old old cars that I didn't even know what they were .... so a bunch of NewTibs mixed in with OldClassics! Quite amusing, I found.
So....I took some more pics of the unusual bunch (Fins & Gills, it was perfect! See one of my photos in one of these posts), and then most of us headed back onto 95 for one final cruise up to our respective exits!
So....all in all....a good time was had by all, despite the bad weather and the rescheduling and playing-by-ear, and the not-as-awesome-as-planned-but-still-great turnout. I'll be heading by Coastal again sometime this week, so I'll be sure to extend our thanks once again for being our host, and for providing the food & DJ.
Thanks to all who showed up! (Those who didn't, well, you're all in trouble. lol)
To all who have thanked me and have had such nice comments thus far -- You're welcome, and thank you, it was my pleasure to organize this meet! Also, thanks to all who helped me out. I think the nametags and the placards worked wonderfully, and it was fun having the awards too (no, not just because I won one -- which I totally hadn't expected or hoped for!). Any input or feedback you have is welcome, and requested! I think we've all done well with our meets this year, let's keep it up! .
So....who's up for planning the next one?
