my exhaust is loud...should i get headers?

Im looking for more performance and i really want to get some headers. I currently have the SSA exhaust and it's really loud and i can barely hear my girlfriend in the car. I try to drive it real quiet when shes in the car, cuz everything in the car vibrates and it just drones in ur ear. If I get any of the choices : DC sport / KRD / SSA headers. Will it have any effect it the loudness? People told me to put in silencers but theyre ugly. Whats a good setup where its not to loud. The borla exhaust with headers seemed a litte to quiet.

Borla drones too. It would be great if there was some sort of resonator replacement out there that you could buy for around $65 that would take away all that noise inside the car. maybe one day some company will make one, some one will buy it and install it on their car and find out it works great then place a review on it in the product review section. Until that day comes we will just have to live with that horrible cabin drone.

hahahahahahahahahahahaha, i guess no one else saw ur thread. Hey sahn i have an SSA exhaust too and im goin with their headers. the way i see it is y pay more for the DC sports when ur still gunna have to get a cat welded in anyway, the SSA's plus the cost of an installed cat wont come close to the cost of the DC headers. i have the underaxle version of the exhaust so i wonder if it will be any quieter.

sahn ... with SSA it will be VERY loud with any headers you get ... and borla with headers isnt quiet, if i was still in SD i would show you, i dont think you ever saw my car after i got the headers in, it is fairly loud, not anything like stock headers.

LOL photo that was hilarious, i dont think he got it though

right, but we can't say that only the SSA is loud with headers. whether you have ark, mussa, DC, or SSA, its all loud.

you said SSA is going to be loud no matter what. if you have h/e in SSA, put the silencers in, its much quieter.

ya anythin with headers is gonna be loud, didnt mean for it to come off like just SSA with headers would be loud. that said, the SSA is a loud system to begin with, so when you get SSA engine back it will be quite a bit louder than something like a borla/DC headers combo, but even that is loud at WOT. either way its gonna be loud

never tried silencers, but i know alot of ppl dont use them because they dont like the way they look

its funny , why do women always complain, my wife is the same way she always tells me she hates riding in my car because it too loud and this was when i only had a ssa exhaust. imagine now.

hey baker, did u feel a big difference with the headers?? and i plan on having an KRD header with SSA exhaust setup. If i purchase this $65 dollar resonator will it quiet it down a bit? Can i have a cat and the resonator at the same time?

and someone told me the dynamat or w/e in ur trunk is somewhat heavy

hey sahn

ya i felt a big diff in the top end when i put on headers, you will love them

the resonator will help, when guam got his headers in he had a very very loud sound, and at high rpms lots of rasp, he got a larger resonator at a shop and it quieted it down a bit and got rid of rasp.

ya you can have cat and resonator, the Cat will probably go on the header Y pipe or test pipe if the KRD's come with one. the resonator will go on the catback just before the split from 1 pipe to 2.

and yes the dynamat would basically cancel out the preformance of getting headers since it will weigh you down more, but make it quieter inside
