ok, so i have asked a few questions and chimed in when i had something to add. here is what i have going on. its an 03 GT that i picked up for free. guy needed some pulling done on a different car he had to get it back on the road and this is what i got for doing so. took me all of thirty mins to get the other car done and i got this lovely pile. anyways, it doesnt look like much now, but it will. it will more than likely end up my brothers first car. its going to be our project to make him learn and respect what he has. i do paint and body and he wants to learn. so this is a great way for us to get together and spend time teaching what i have learned through the years

heres what the damage looks like......

a few weeks ago i was at the u pull it yard getting some parts for a customer of mine so that i could fix his car and came across a 08 that had some good parts on it. we needed a dash with pass air bag. so i snatched it out along with the carpet and rear seats.

so, here he has finally got the dash out and is about to put the new carpet it......

so, as of right now, thats were we/he is we are waiting on some clips to come in so we can get the new/er dash in. i have to find a good donor for all the front end parts or i am going to have to find some deals on parting it together. we plan on doing it up tho. i will add to this as we progress.

thanks

yeah, its hurt. mostly the section in front of the shock tower crushed in on the upper rail. the bottom rail is going to be the hardest. i will end up with a clip that i can get what i need off of.

you should have turned and ran away from that car......a car that badly wrecked in the frint will never be the same again no matter how much and how good of work you put into it...you could be the best auto body man in the world but that car is fvcked up

Are you replacing the airbags and etc. do you have seats for it? or are they junk as well/ cause ,cause here are some 08 seats found (full set ) the air bags harnesses are different but the seats are nice

+1. It is going to cost more to repair that what it would be worth if the car was never in an accident, let alone that has been nearly destroyed and rebuilt. The car rebuilt in 100% like new condition would probably not go for more than 2500-3000

guys, i understand that this car wouldnt be worth fixing for money reasons. but, i got it and i want my brother to put his hands into it. its going to be his and he wants to learn paint and body. i know for a fact that i can have it streetable for less than what its worth. plus, some of you spend more on the motor or paint job than what these cars are worth. I UNDERSTAND! I GET IT! now, its more of the project, plus in the end, we will have about as much into it as its worth, having it the way we want it. i know it will take time to do it, i do this everyday. but there is no point in crushing a car that can be fixed. we arent trying to sell it. my mom is very low income and would have had no means of getting my brother a car. so, i found something that he can learn to respect and maybe even get his feet wet in learning a trade .

Ya know man, It's gonna be a pain but if you have the skills and can teach your lil bro some respect and pride in a vehicle I say go for it. On top of that you are an awesome bit bro for wanting to do something like this with your little brother, and sacrifice your time and skill to help him build something. Yeah some of the guys have good points. It'll be spendy, and alot of work, but the lessons learned, the experience, and some life long memories with your brother would totally be worth it in my opinion.

i didnt say I was low income. plus, i promise you, i will have this car built for less than 3500. with the paint job we want. plus, a carbon fiber hood, etc etc. i can finance it for him. you dont have to understand why i am doing it. that part of it is none of your business for the most part. i figured i would just show the progress of something most people dont get to see. hell, if it comes to worth, most of the superchargers and turbo kits are worth more than the pile of metal in your driveway then:3_winkthu

and staw, that wasnt directed at you, just throwin that out there

damn man thats one big project. One thing I would do is if your bro wanted a sts. I would toss it in know since there is no center council. Also you could make a list of stuff you need so we could help keep an eye out for you.

mock, that sounds like a good idea.

parts i need:
-left & right fenders
-front bumper, 05-06(got to difficult)
-left & right head lights, again, 05-06
-radiator for V6
-ac condenser
-radiator support for V6 model
-any of the plastic under the front end
-upper rail, where the top of the fender bolts to, off a junk car
-lower rail
-right side suspension, knuckle, control arms, etc
-engine cradle

i could get a front clip for around 2k from the junk yard with all these parts. but we want a carbon fiber hood. that would get us ready to paint and drive really.

Check Craigslist and if you are not on HHOP (*******************.com) then jump on there. there is a guy that is parting out a car a car that i bet you can get part of the suspension stuff and maybe some other stuff from

what part of GA are you in? check out the official Ga thread in the South East USA regional board...

If you happen to be close to me, then I would be glad to help out where I could as I would enjoy learning about that stuff too....Im in Cumming, which is about 30-40 minutes north of Atlanta up GA 400....and not to volunteer him, but im sure that Dante would be glad to help as well....he lives about 5 minutes from me...

dude you can find a tiburon for under 3.5k
just take all the parts off of it and let your brother piece it back together.
i highly doubt that you will have that car in good condition for that price.
not worth it in my opinion
but i admire your pride.

Hefty project man. Where in Ga are you at? Im in Dacula. Let me know if you need a hand sometime.

i have about 500 in it now, air bags, air bag control mod, clock spring, dash, carpet out of an 08 and the rear seats out of an 08. i got the carpet and seats because they were in nicer, newer shape. i could spend 2k and get a front clip from the junk yard here that would have everything i needed to finish it. headlights, fenders, hood, rad, rad support, ac condenser, engine cradle, and the rails. i am sure i could find one for less, but what would you get? i did an unlimited mileage search on autotrader, for ***** and giggles, and there was one 03 GT for less than 4k.

and actually, included in that 500, i pulled the center console, rear bumper, rear exhaust, and rear taillights out of the 08. i wasnt sure if they would fit, but i thought they might. but they didnt. i found the car in a u pull it yard close to were i live. they had flat rate prices, no matter what car or year.
