so i've done tons of research and have narrowed my exhaust choices down to three. i know there are tons of which ones out there. i can't decide on the sound after listening to numerous clips. so i need a little input from you guys.

the three exhaust options are:
ARK DT-S
Injen
Borla

out of those three i don't want somthing that sounds over ricy and what not. something deep and powerfull.

to add to this i've come up with a list of other parts i'm going to get this summer.

ARK sts
Injen CAI

and does anyone have any input about the ARK sts? likes dislikes. thanks guys.

I will tell you right now that you are going to get a fair amount of bantering from members about the Borla and how it "drones" and that it is too "restricted".

So, I am going to give my $.02...

I have an Injen CAI and Borla catback. I also have System Type C headers. I absolutely love the sound of the Borla. There is absolutely no raspy tone or ricey sound to it.

Here is a clip from inside my car and one from outside:

i am going to get a borla catback this summer once i can take a break from paying for college because i like the way it sounds and that its not too crazy looking and it resembles the stock exhaust, i didnt know it was more restrictive than the rest though

dzznuts, do you have a 5 or 6-spd? If 5 go with TWM STS if 6 than I'd say go with Ark, the quality on the ARK STS is amazing but it's a little taller than I would have hoped and definitely moreso than the TWM, I have to admit though I really do love it since it was put in. Here are some installed pics:

thanks guys for the input so far. and yes i do have a six speed, and that just looks freakin sweet man.

now does anyone have anymore input with the exhausts?

im planning on going with injen...but im on the same boat with you on which one i REALLY want. i got already an injen SRI and i am pretty sure it will be a great mix with Injen products...and there is a review on it ...check it out

Okay, I have gone through Stock, Borla and Mussa exhausts. Borla is by far in my mind the best sounding OUTSIDE the car. TONS of drone on the inside and oh well about restriction until you go F/I. Mussa, well its a little raspy but there is a lot less drone inside. Not drone-less, but a lot less when cruising around town. To me it drones more when you are accelerating than the Borla does.

Sorry I can't compare to the Ark, but my props to the Borla... if it didn't have the drone, it would be the perfect exhaust in my eyes... Go with the Borla and Photoman's drone eliminator. (Search for that.) Its a good go for the Borla.

ARK is quality. I have their STS and it's wonderful. I don't own their exhaust, but I have heard it in car and out of car and it sounds great.

Why would it be a great mix? The SRI and exhaust don't really compliment each other. I could understand this statement if you were referring to an engine back setup like DC Sport Header and Exhaust or ARK Header and Exhaust combo.

yea after looking at yalls answers i believe my choice is with the DT-S from ARK.

now this may be a stupid question....for the injen cai, is the filter washable like some filters out there? or would i have to keep replacing it.

and last but not least...since i live in va there really isn't a lot of rain so should i worry about a bypass valve for the cai?

I live in Texas... it rains a decent amount out here... no problems with my CAI. I've had it for over a year.

where to get the borla?

dont get borla......plain and simple......the drone is just insanely stupid from 2500-4500RPM....i have to yell to whoever is in my car while im driving.....on top of that the piping is so damn restrictive...regardless of FI or NA.......how does 1.7 in piping throughout MOST of the exhaust system help your performance? it doesnt.....get a greddy evo 2 knock off with a HFC or test pipe if you so wish......just know that whatever exhast you get....it will get rapsy with headers, it just takes a while for it to kick in.....i hated the borla when it was on my car.....got a greddy evo 2 and am much more pleased

dzznuts...here is what I did when I was looking at an exhaust system.

I listed to a bunch of sound clips - which will only be helpful to a certain degree. The best option is to hear other tibs - in person - that have different exhaust systems.

I shopped by the quality of a product, the brand's reputation, customer satisfaction and got a lot of input from others who have owned various brands - on their Tib and other cars.

I also looked at the appearance of the exhaust systems and how it looked when mounted on a Tib. I wanted something that was very close to the stock appearance rather than a fart can look.

I was not concerned with the restriction of the exhaust as I was looking for something that had a sound quality that was to my liking.

I knew that I would be buying headers in the future and did not want a raspy sounding exhaust that would only get worse when headers were installed.

Price - I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for.

Again, these are my opinions and how I made my choice. Good luck on whatever you decide to get.

well c-shark.....

over the past year i have listened to more sound clips then i really care for. thats how i got it down to the main three i listed in the beginning. but then the quality of the product was next in line along with what customers thought, outsiders opinions, and company reputation.....and i feel that going with the ARK DT-S will statisfy me.

the look is gorgeous imo, and from what my friends who have never seen or heard the exhausts before all picked the ARK. also i have dealt with these guys before and their products are just down right incredible. great service and great products, where can you go wrong? i just needed yalls opinion on things. it's a hard decision for everyone if it's a first time exhaust buy. hence all the threads about "which one should i get?". this one was close to that but i at least had my list of three and then asked opinions.

i am very appreciative of your opinions and though i have not looked at some i think the ARK DT-S will have to do for me. it's everyones personal preference and it's mine. so when i have the money arkspeedracing.com will be the place i venture to.

PS- can someone please inform me if the filter on the Injen CAI is washable or will i have to get a new filter every time it gets dirty or time to be replaced?

thanks again guys.

I have the ARK DT-S exhaust, STS, and Strut Tower Bars and all i can say its holy ****! The Qaulity, the Service, everything is amazing. A bit pricey, but i am a firm believer that u get wut u pay for. U cant go wrong with ne of their products! BTW the exhaust sounds tens times better then borla or ne others, deep, but not 2 deep! Plus even if ur looking for deep, headers will do that for ya!
