ok the car was back and running. now its freaking out. Heres what happened. I stop at my girlfriends house and when I try to leave about an hour later the car wont start. just a really really fast clicking noise. And also the key fob doesnt work. I unlock it with the key and the alarm tries to go off but it just makes a quiet beeping noise like its trying to go off but it doesnt. So I roll it down a hill and dump the clutch, it starts up no problem. Then after about two hours of the car running with the headlights on I stop it again. I try and start it but this time everything goes dim and then starts to turn off and on and off and on. So I take out the key and the alarm is "trying" to go off again. I mess with the negative side on the battery and then the alarm goes off all the way, loud as hell. Then when I think the problem is solved I get back in the car and when I try to start it. It just dies. No clicking or anything. A friend of mine says its the battery. What do you guys think?

I would say it is your battery, if it was the alt, you would have a hard time running any type of accesory even after you did the clutch dump start....no juice from the alt mean no accessories...just my .02

You and problems with ur car. When is it ever going to end. I think it might be the alternator myself.

ah i remember the ole clicky-clicky. Battery. But you said you messed with the cable and it came on? hmmmm, I would first tighten the hell out of your battery cables just in case you have a loose one, and if it dies again your options are to buy an optima red top like i did, or carry jumper cables in your trunk and rely on the good will of others. But that gets old real quick.

Hands down it's the battery. The alternator is what keeps the car running once it's running. The battery gets the combustion party started. Just my .02 but I'd bet cashola it's the battery. I hope you don't have a short after all that work you did...

combustion party lol. you guys were right. I replaced the battery and bueno. It starts just fine now. Thanks everyone for your fast help. I get so focused on the fact that I have another problem with it that I forget how to fix cars lol. hopefully this is the last of the bugs that I have to work out.

Always start with the basics. The biggest mistake people make is dirty or loose conections. If you battery has dirty or loose connection, the charge won't get back to it correctly. Another is load testing. I've seen alot of people slapping on a voltmeter on a batt and telling me it's fine cause it reads 12 volts. Horse sh't. You can have one bad cell, read good volts and lose sufficient cranking amps. Alot of people run out getting alternators after frying two or more batteries when sometimes all they needed was to clean or tighten connections. If you keep expelling power form a bettery and the charge can't get back to it your gonna' fry it. Glad it was just the battery.

my car is a 03 same thing happened to me, went for a drive 15min to best buy came home, went to leave for work 30min later, same exact thing, clicking and all, but itd start with a jump, it's a bad battery, i guess the stock batteries in the 03 only last about 3 years the guy told me.
