Hi, im pretty newbie to cars.
I just got my SSA exaust and OBX Headers installed (already have a AEM intake), and my question is... when im driving between 1000 rpm to 3000 rpm it sounds perfectly fine... but when i pass that, it sounds REALLY raspy... why is that? how can i fix it?

I tried to search it up but everytime i try to search it sends me to an error page ....
Oh well, i have my flame suit on just in case :3_nosthum

please help me

They are 100% correct but one more question how long has it been installed? What I mean is have you been driving it long enough to let your resonator break in? test pipe= raspy magnaflow high flow FTW

installed my high flow cat with flanges and proper o2 bungs for relocation for like 65 bucks if you cant weld a shop can do it for you for prolly 20-30 bucks or so

I just got it today... and i was just test driving it.
i dont have a resonator tho i thought? i thought all that came off for the headers?
do i have to worry about the o2 sensory thing too?
how much did you get your high flow cat for?

nope the resonator is on the catback exhaust its a muffler type thing before the tubes split to go to the duals This greatly affects the raspiness of the exhaust and takes a little driving to break in and will quiet down when it breaks in. The things in the stock manifolds are catalytic converters and there is a third one between the manifolds and the catback and sometimes you have to relocate the o2 sensors behind the high flow cat (if you chose to get one) if A. you cant pass visual inspection where you live or B. you have a check engine light come on for a catalyst inefficiency code. High flow cat on ebay for 50 bucks

Man, evrything is so complicated, i thought it was just slapping on some headers and exaust and your good to go lol
ok il check if my engine light comes on
is the 50 dollor high flow cat good or is it just one of those ebay item that are crap quality?

Its a magnaflow with a 3 year warranty. I have on 08 with ssa's and a tsudo catback with the magnaflow cat and I cut out my resonator and welded in a magnaflow resonator. When I first drove mine for maybe 100 miles or so it was raspy as hell then I put in the cat and the resonator broke in and it was fine, I put in the magnaflow cat for a deeper tone. Oh and I see you have an 08 you will get a CEL I can all but assure you of that every person with an 07-08 that has done headers has had some sensor drama but just relocate the downstream sensors and problem solved. It took about 50 miles of driving for my CEL to come on.

Ok i think i am getting the high flow cat tomorrow.. long story short, that will get rid of the noise right?
is it really nessecary for me to get the resonator too?

i have custom exhaust. no cat no mufflers. just straight off the headers to the back =]

My quick q why go straight back?
what? not literally straight back, he means from the header, as straight as possible bends following the stock piping path. There isn't too much room for other routes.
