BIG ASS UPDATE!!!

Ok peeps in speaking with Z I am offically a co-organizer of Tibfest 2005 HOORAH!!

Z has told me that Tibfest 2005 will be held on the weekend of Augest 12th, 13th, and 14th. This date was choosen as it is the same weekend that the first two Tibfest's have been held on.

Futher more we are looking into doing a registration fee for Tibfest this year. Included in the fee would be the cost of your campsite, t-shirt, and basic cost of expeses we have for making up flyers to put around town, getting more prizes blah blah.

Also we were thinking about scrapping the visit to the dealership this year as it has been quite a drag the past couple of years we few people other than the car drivers themselves showing up. I doubt many people will disagree with this ass it allows us more time.

Secondly instead of doing just the print art shirts I was thinking that I would talk to Loan.Shark of Seatbeltpads.com to see if he could make us up some embroderied shirts. These would obviously cost more hence adding to your registration fee and I doubt it could be done unless there is a certain amount of people that want them done.

Desert Lake resort has said we can come back, but Z is looking into trying to get a closer spot this year as it was brought up that it was kind of a long drive out there last year. But then again that road rocked and it kind of made up for it.

I e-mailed the guys that are holding the show and shine and I am trying to find out when their date is. Hopefully they haven't set their date yet and will be able set it according to ours.

And I guess lastly, we are looking for someone to design a logo for Tibfest 2005 to be used on the shirts. The logo can't be overly complex and must be something that a screen printer will be able to put on the shirt. If you like you can make one complex one that might be used on the site and one for the t-shirts but basically we want one for the shirts as the shirts let everyone know where we are from. We need a logo that can go front left chest and larger on the back. So go go go and work that photoshop

I'm just shootin a question out in the open. What if we invited a couple of TV stations to the show and shine special, that would be kinda interesting to see our cars on TV, maybe not nationally but at least locally and i'm sure that we know alot of ppl that can tape or something and put it on the forum.

well I am sure that we can contact them, but I highly doubt they will cover a local show and shine without a good reason to put it on the air. I mean this show and shine isn't like darknights or anything, I would say there was maybe 100 at most there last year.

And I am not a mod even though I requested that someone from ontario be bumped to mod status so we wouldn't have to worry about these situations, but I was ignored

 

Well, we can at least try. I mean 100 cars and 60-70% of these are tibs, that would be really interesting for anybody. As soon as the date is set, i'll send an email to CJOH tv in ottawa and see if they would be interested

Just a thought...what if we made this an event to raise money for some kind of charity? Like kids with cancer or something.

I'll have to think of some more details if people are interested...it's just an idea for now.

 

The show and shine was held by some car audio place in kingston if I remember correctly.

Yes ok cancer sucks and I suppose we could donate to them. But person if I hear one more ****ing cry for money for this tusmani bs I am gonna flip, peronsally the only good thing about it is that it got the dumb ass war on iraq outta the news finally

 

I definitely think some kind of 'car show' should be included. Show and shine's are great, maybe after the shine, show in a high-traffic area

Plus it's difficult when you're not an 'organization' in regards to tax receipts, etc... but a noble thought

I prefer the second weekend, that way both Adam and I can show up at a decent time instead of me leaving on Friday and him showing up LATE Friday night.

 

Gamz for sure is going to be on a weekend, tibfest always has and always will be a weekend camping trip / showing of our cars

SamIam, Like I have said repeatdly I am kinda bound by the show and shine as to when tibfest will be held this year, unless we wish not to merge the events.

agree totally. not w/ just tsunami charities but most in gereral... lets just say i like spending the money i earn. call it cold hearted, but i work hard and want to play hard... not put more money in other ppls pocket. my taxes already provide for Welfare and Unemployment... what else do you want from me??

I never said anything about a tsunami relief fund...i was talking about innocent kids who have some sort of disease.

I'm not here to start an argument or anything...and I agree it might be too complicated, but seriously guys I understand that we work hard for our money and pay too many taxes and stuff BUT we also have to consider ourselves lucky to be in a position where we can work and buy all these great things (like a Tib).

Some people will never have that opportunity... :2_rolleye

Why whould you have to leave on Friday? That sucks! But if makes you feel any better if we have it on the later date I will not be going at all as I am not able to leave my bed almost every year with bad alergies.
