Okay guys, as some of you may have guessed or speculated, I'm in a sort-of sponsorship deal with SSA.

Fact is, they are going to be releasing a supercharger kit based on a powerdyne charger. =)

I'm sort of new to forced induction (well.. putting forced induction on an NA car) my last car was a 1.8t =/

If you guys could please help me out, it will ensure that the future SSA kit will be very stable and overall great.

Here is what I need (and I come to you guys because this is the tiburon knowledge vault)

I'll start with the basics.

Right now I have a manual 2004 GT.
Performance-wise what I have done is:
1. Bomz CAI
2. SSA V2 Headers
3. SSA V2 Exhaust
4. SSA "Stage 5" SSA intake manifold
5. And the slave cylinder mod (dosnt really count but figure I'd include)

I need to know exactly everything that I would need to run AROUND 130whp OVER stock power.

Things like fuel injectors, etc.

I dont really have a good idea what I need, for example I know I'll need fuel injectors, but I'm not sure which ones.

If we could please start some sort of list as to exactly what I would need to run this amount of power daily, it would not only help me, but would also help any future customer of this supercharger kit.

I cant thank you enough guys, haha, I'll get through this one! :3_winkthu

Price isnt COMPLETELY an object right now as I am the test-user. Basically I need to be 100% sure that this will run safely.

Judging by the quality of the rest of their products, I would say the best way to ensure the SSA supercharger kit is safe, reliable, and fits would be to have someone else make it. Don't get me wrong... I have their headers and they are definately the best bang for the buck, but with all the fitment troubles people have with them, I can't even imagine the problems people will have with an SSA FI product. Just make sure they don't glue the **** together like they do with their turbos and that will be a good start. Good luck with the project and keep us posted!

With all due respect man if your/their asking that kind of question this kit is already starting out really shaky. Dont get me wrong I love SSA products I have their headers, exhaust, intercooler, and I was talking to them for a while about some custom turbo piping (kind of fell through). But if your/their designing a F/I kit and cant figure out how to calculate the amount of fuel flow you are going to need then it doesnt sound like you should be designing a commercial kit anyway. As for injectors 290cc rising rate with an FPR is more then enough. best of luck to you.

edit:: When i started designing my custom turbo i thought it was going to be easy as hell basically just slap a couple of componets on and be done; Like myself i have the feeling you are about to find out F/I is WAY more complex then that. As for everything you are going to need honestly im not even going to try because there is a lot......at least to do it safly/right

edit:: to give you some idea just for the non engine/supercharger componets you are going to need a solid motor mount, fuel tuner and a new clutch; thats already going to run you around 1K and thats not even including anything for the engine/supercharger setup

Its not a kit made by them, its in testing in korea right now and is being resold in the US.

=/

money isnt a problem because im the "test car"

when I say this I mean everything is completely free.

the supercharger, the install, the internals, the dyno tune, everything.

Trust me, I really, really dont want to blow my car up either... but whens the last time you were offered a free supercharger, with free install and tune? I dont want to say that I want to "chance it" either. But I am very curious to the quality of the product also because right now, all my SSA products dont seem THAT BAD in comparison to other products that I've seen for the tiburon (in working aspect that is, maybe not as beautiful, but from what I know, work nearly as good.)

The charger itself is pretty well known (powerdyne) so that dosnt leave too much left to be crappy quality really (please correct me if i'm wrong) because all of the other stuff like injectors and FPR will all be third party.

I'm not taking it personal or anything that you guys are putting them down, I just really wish I can go through with this and drive it daily, reliably.

Please try to help me out instead of cracking jokes. I can see where some of you are coming from, when questioning the quality aspect, but... Its so hard to hold back from a free supercharger setup. If there is any way possible to go through with this... I want to. :3_confuse

If they are building it in korea, wouldn't it make sence for them to test it in korea?

I have had an SSA exhaust on my car which fell apart in about 8 months. So I am not just hopping on the band wagon to bash them, I speak from experience. I think you are probably the only person who bought their ebay stage 5 IM....lol

alright i just Emailed them about the subject.

Basically ill tell you the jist of what I said. (only I presented them in a much more polite way)

***I really would be interested if you could just run this same setup at a lower psi. A setup that could generate anywhere from 40-80 wheel horsepower. 125-140whp is ALOT to be running on a first-setup "beta testing" supercharger kit. You would be surprised how many people would rather spring for a supercharger setup that pushes 60hp instead of one that pushes 125hp. For example, the Alpine Stage 0 supercharger kit for the 2.7 liter GT tiburon only makes about 35-40whp. (lol dont quote me on this, of course im not exactly sure but thats what i usually see from dyno runs) Even then, its one of THE most popular supercharger setups for the tiburon. The only supercharger setups running as much power as you are predicting are highly credited, and fine tuned systems, which cost thousands upon thousands of dollars.****

the email was actually about 3 times the length of that... thats why i shortened it. Basically I just want to let them know that boosting a Tiburon GT isnt the same as boosting a Civic.

edit: post above disappeared. I haven't bought anything up to this point other than the exhaust (which originally started my conversations with the company) so no I did not buy that stage 5 intake manifold... which I'm in the process of installing actually and it really doesn't seem THAT bad. No its not beautiful but it definitely gets the job done.
