That is, of course, assuming I even have the Tib at the time....it's due to go into the body shop as soon as the insurance company finishes processing my claim...the body shop will have it for at least a week ... (this is all thanks to the major hail damage I got in that same storm which messed up the space shuttle's external tank)

I got a few ideas from my dad from his old cars shows, and also had some thoughts of my own based on last time ... so here are my suggestions:

1) Name tags with NT & real-life names
2) Placards for inside the windshield with NT & real-life name, city, model year / engine / trans -- we all want to wander and see the other cars, so we're not always available to chat.
3) Scheduled times for all hoods up & all hoods down
4a) Pre-generated roster (perhaps with photos) with mod lists
^ this could make it easier to 1) figure out whose Tib is whose, 2) see/point out particular mods
^ this could also contain a list of NEW mods since the last meet, for those who have already seen it
4b) Alternative to roster: placard for window/windshield with list of mods
5) Feedback forms? Again, we're not always around, but it's nice to hear people's feedback.
6) Park all cars nose-to-the-sun! The cars were all turned around last time (until we lined up for the group photo, of course), and most photos are taken towards the nose! With the sun behind the car, photos won't come out as well.

Just some thoughts. Feedback is welcome! I'd be glad to help out if I can, but I'm on a tight schedule with work often demanding overtime and masters classes some evenings....

 

i was planning on the name tags. the paper in the window is a good idea. and the rosters would be difficult to get everyone to participate in that, but we can try. I think everyone should make a paper that they put in their windshield that has both names, year, model, etc. and a mod list. as for the hoods up/hoods down, i think that should be easy enough to call on the spot, but we will have to keep the scheduled thing in mind.

ok, i was talking with one of the members and he suggested trying to setup a dealership meet. maybe have a BBQ and hang at a hyundai dealership.

whats everyones take on this??

 

the tib isnt running right but i might just come for ***** and giggles..

Mine ain't running so great either. Threw a CEL twice in the last two weeks. Idling kinda poorly.
I think my CAI is messin with my MAF. Only happens after a WOT highway entrance. muahaha!

my car eats gas, literally it wont run unless you pulsate the throttle to hold an idle, i also cant really clow down or the car wants to die, cams are way to aggressive and i have no tune (will be solved tomarrow)

I like the dealership idea too -- as long as the salespeople promise to not ask us if we want to buy new cars. I HATE that, EVERY time I stop in for an oil change (since they do it for free), the same sales guy (who processed the paperwork when I bought mine) always comes to find me, to ask me if he can put me in a new one. "How about I put stripes on that blue 07 over there, can we put you in it?"

Every time, I tell him, "No way, this one's got plenty of life left!" The guy can't take a hint. I know it's his job, but I bought it brand new just three years ago, it's more than obvious by its appearance that I have interest in it and it's not "just another car". Leave me alone I'm not buying a new one!!!!

I was thinking maybe something at a park. Where everyone can bring alittle of something and we can have a cookout. Like Daves Lakland meet. The in town meets are fun but its good to change it up a bit this way people dont have to spend money to eat out and its more of a getogether.

I was thinking of setting something up like a barbeque around July before I move back home when school lets out.

 

i was thinking of possibly trying that too, but i wanted to try a dealership meet first. were curently working with dealers to try and have them host us. if the dealerships fall through, we will resort to either the park or the parking garage.

 

Great news, I should have the Tib back in time for the meet. Insurance company said they mailed out the check yesterday...so I stopped by the body shop and they said to bring it in next Monday. Sweet!
