Re: DIY: Painting stock 17" rims

anyone have pics of what it would look like on stock 07 GS wheels? i want to do it all black. no lip.

and those sticky/magnetic weights, they suck. i had new tires put on a few months ago, and as i left the place, and drove down the road, they flew off and made my ride really unstable! i had to go back and they put them back on. i think they are unreliable

can't they put on the hammer wieghts on the inside of the wheel?

i want to do this....but i'm curious as to what an 07 gs wheels would look like.

Re: PAINTING stock 17" rims

What kind of paint do you use? How long does it last?
Seriously...?
Do people even read threads or do they just read they title and think they should ask questions that are already answered in the FIRST 5 LINES

Re: DIY: Painting stock 17" rims

How many cans of black paint did you guys use? I used one and I didn't completely cover one tire and partially covered another until the can ran out -_- must have been because it was windy (and I suck at this) Pepboys was sold out so now I'm driving around with a half painted rim haha I'm guessing around 2-3 cans?

I used 3 cans of wheel paint. I did probably like 3 or 4 coats. It was a pain in the *** for me because I went to 3 different auto zones to get all the paint I needed. Everyone was sold ou haha.

Make sure you set aside enough time to let the paint cure :p

Re: DIY: Painting stock 17" rims

Just painted my stockers white today. It was a real hassle, but they look pretty fweet.
Honestly, thr only thing that really bugged me was how long it took to tape up the wheels haha. Other than that it's a fairly smooth process!

Ah man the sanding killed me. Didn't use the right stuff, and just went overboard getting it perfect, only to prime over it anyway lol.

Re: DIY: Painting stock 17" rims

Mad props for this diy!!! Thank you for taking the time to make this and thanks to those that put the link on how to remove scuff marks really gonna help out!! I may do a write up on removing the scuff marks on the rims along with painting it... Will post photos once I start it.

Re: DIY: Painting stock 17" rims

So I ran out of paint as I was painting my tires. It's been a few weeks since I've painted them and I just washed them, but do I have to sand them again before I start adding more coats?
